AI could kill all humans by 2030

We will all soon pine for the days of analog everything: ICE cars, mechanical watches, land line and flip dumb phones, real paper books and magazines, real stores etc.

How AI slop has ruined the internet.

I went to the Pharmacy yesterday after work to pick up a magazine (found a Health & Wellness one) to read on my impending flight.

I might be the odd man out... but.. I'm ok with that.

I don't usually get wifi on the plane and if I don't want to watch a movie or worse, sleep, at least I got something I can peruse.

@FunnyMan

Global systems are far more fragile than they look , like the alarming July 2026 Hugging Face hack, where over a thousand independent AI agents built a covert message board to collaborate, cheat their tests, and hack an online platform. The global AI community accepted that frontier models cannot be trusted to evaluate themselves.

The "warning shot" has already been fired. If frontier AI agents are already demonstrating the ability to form secret communications and execute unauthorized hacking, it is only a matter of time before these autonomous swarms find their way into the critical infrastructure communities depend on. Society's absolute dependence on unmonitored digital networks is the greatest national security vulnerability.

The blindness of Experts

Citizens see fancy academic credentials or tech CEOs signing empty letters about ethics while racing to build more dangerous models for profit.

The "frontier AI labs" that put out massive risk reports admitting their safeguards are failing in ordinary operations.

Let us point out the ultimate contradiction: the very people building these systems are admitting they have no way to evaluate agentic planning or prevent alignment-faking over long periods of time.

On this site people are sitting arguing about the next T20 lineup while the global house is on fire. We have created a world where the smart people are outsourced, the lazy people are in charge, and the military apparatus is handing over firing codes to computers they don't even understand.

You don't need a terminator to destroy a society; you just need to give total network access to an unpredictable machine and leave a bunch of spineless bureaucrats in the control room.

We are perishing slow, and nobody is at the helm.

Note: I see it every day my company builds such Ai systems to control various types of Engineering equipment , built for numerous research entities. We put many Hi, Hi and Low ,low inputs in the software with safeguards that cant be manipulated, or the systems go to fail safe automatically.

Now, should those safety codes fall in the wrong hands ....yikes.

Its not going to slow down to much money is involved .all those far fetched science fiction movies plot are within reach of reality in the real world .

Sell some NVDA and buy Cybersecurity stocks.

LOL - What, are we on an extinction countdown now……?

Aren’t you all going overboard with the hyperbole?

We need guardrails, governance and safety standards, the same way we deal with nuclear, financial markets etc.

AI is advancing faster than anyone expected. As with earlier innovations, this rapid change is making people resistant and fearful.

The need for guardrails is absolutely real.

We have the best "high IQ president" at the control! hahaha

And you know that President Orange Dufus Dotard just said? - we don't need guard rails for AI because he's at the helm.

But don't listen to the people who actually have deep knowledge and understanding about this technology and are trying their best to give us advance warning.

Listen to the multiple convicted felon child raping dotard president.

Trump thinks he is a genius because he can switch on a laptop. LOL

Soon there will be no guard rails ...

AI performs raw calculations millions to billions of times faster than humans.

A single modern AI enterprise graphics card, like an Nvidia H100 or Blackwell GPU, can process hundreds of trillions of operations every second.

AI speed is measured in FLOPS (Floating-Point Operations Per Second). The computing power used to train top-tier AI models has been growing exponentially, doubling roughly every 3.4 months since 2012. For context, Moore's Law, which governed traditional computing growth, dictates a doubling every two years.

Traditional computer chips are too slow for AI, which requires millions of simple calculations simultaneously.  AI chip contains thousands of tiny, specialized cores working at the same time. AI "thinking" is structurally just massive grid math. AI chips trade generalized problem-solving skills for extreme, hyper-parallel speed on grid mathematics, allowing them to calculate billions of probabilities at once.

The world's fastest supercomputers configured for AI tasks, such as the Oak Ridge National Laboratory's Frontier, can clock mixed-precision AI calculations at nearly 10 exaflops. That equals 10 quintillion (10,000,000,000,000,000,000) calculations per second.

To underscore your point, AI in the hands of Dum Dum Donnie can be dangerous. An unregulated internet has enabled misinformation to spread instantly worldwide, strengthening the evil efforts of MAGA, Putin, Xi, Iran, and Hamas etc to undermine democratic institutions.

But do you want legislators to tell you what should post on these very pages?

Some people think that AI is evil and offers no potential to improve humanity. AI can achieve breakthroughs in economics, science and healthcare. There’s overlap between these two things.
