Cricket commentary | Antigua and Barbuda Falcons vs Jamaica Kingsmen, Final, Caribbean Premier League 2026

Antigua and Barbuda Falcons have won the toss and have opted to field

Rovman Powell: Tonight is a night to change the trend. It is good to be in and play some good cricket. Russell is a warrior and he is good to go. We are playing the same team.

Moeen Ali: We are going to bowl first because generally that's the trend here. They are very calm, boys are focused to play and we are thinking about basics. We have one change. Seales come in... more tactical more than anything.

Pitch report by Ian Bishop: Final of CPL 2026 and just to update you first of all about the weather. It’s a high of 29 and feels like 35 because it’s a bit muggy, it’s a bit humid, a 5% chance of rain. That hopefully won’t eventuate and a little wind coming across the ground

With AlJo and Seales spearheading the Falcons' attack, I doubt the Jamaica franchise batsmen stand any chance of putting up a challenging total.

...speaking for VOR.

Andre Russell: [On the team’s grit and never-say-die attitude] You know, we are from Jamaica, we a little but we tallawah and, that’s a slogan that we live with and, with the way we’ve been playing our last couple of games, I have no doubt. When I came off, I told the guys that they were short 20 runs based on how good the wicket was.
[On his body and dealing with the challenge] Oh, when I got hit in Jamaica in my head, it was affecting me still, but I kept pushing and I kept pushing until I had to take a break from the game, missing three games based on the dizziness that I was getting. But when I came back, it still come back here and there, and I find when I push myself, I’m still not fully recovered because it was a terrible hit. So, everything in this sport is tough, we have to be tough as well. So it’s just one last push for me and hopefully that will bring me through.

Maaz Sadaqat and Kirk McKenzie are at the crease.

Maaz Sadaqat is on strike.

Jayden Seales will open the attack

0.1

Jayden Seales to Maaz Sadaqat, SIX, wow, what a start! Whacked away! Full and on the pads, Maaz Sadaqat flicks it high and handsome over deep backward square leg. It's a no-look shot from Sadaqat, he didn't even bother to watch the ball after making connection. Now, the fourth umpire is coming out to the middle with a replacement ball

0.6

Jayden Seales to Kirk McKenzie, out Caught by Rahkeem Cornwall!! What an eventfull first over of the finals. First the six from Sadaqat and now Seales comesback with a wicket off the final ball. He kept nipping it away from the left-hander. Kirk McKenzie pokes away from his body with no feet and only manages a thick outside edge that flies to the right of slip. Rahkeem Cornwall moves to his right and takes a sharp catch. Seales lets out a loud roar as the catch is completed.

Kirk McKenzie c Rahkeem Cornwall b Jayden Seales 0(4)

2.4

Jayden Seales to Maaz Sadaqat, FOUR, clever from Maaz Sadaqat. Sees the width and the gap on the off-side. Opens the bat face and runs it down to the left of third man. The pace of the bowler helps him fetch a boundary

Sun, Sep 20, '26 at 7:18 PM

2.6

Jayden Seales to Maaz Sadaqat, FOUR, shortish in length on off-stump. Maaz Sadaqat walks across his stumps and scoops it over the keeper. Connects well and the ball bounces just inside the boundary ropes

JKM 26-1(3) CRR:8.67

Maaz Sadaqat 20 (10)
