I would love to see him be encourage to think of test cricket

The people running our cricket dont have a clue of what they doing. You take a youte man like Miles Bascombe, who has never even managed a corner shop, and put him in charge of our cricket.

This year -these guys last first-class competition saw one team play another team 4 times. Mind you, there were 4 teams on one island. Not sure why they couldn’t have teams playing each other.

It really ain’t that difficult: identifying a core group of players and putting them into a continuous training and development programme. They keep talking about money, while this doesn’t require a massive budget. It requires proper planning, organisation, consistency, and people who understand player development. I’ve worked at club level in London, and trust me, this is not that difficult to organise.

We need to stop making things more complicated than they are and start building a proper system where our best young players are identified, trained consistently, monitored, and developed over time. That is how you build a stronger cricket programme.
