THA rewards Tobago all-rounder with $50,000 for CPL triumph
Joshua James is rapidly establishing himself among Tobago’s elite cricket exports, and his remarkable 2026 continued to gather momentum when he returned home earlier this week as a Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20 champion.
During a welcome reception, the 25-year-old Whim native was presented with a $50,000 cheque by the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) ,in recognition of his contribution to the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons’ historic maiden CPL title.
James, who is also a former West Indies Under-19 player, has had a year to remember, having already helped the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force capture the West Indies Championship first-class title earlier in 2026, before adding the CPL trophy to his collection with the Falcons. He was also a member of the Trinidad and Tobago Legions that won the Breakout League T20 last year.
