On a day when their batting star didn’t shine, the West Indies found not much else by way of breathing room and were suffocated by Zimbabwe’s bowlers, being dismissed for 139, eventually succumbing to a four-wicket loss in the second Women’s One-Day International in Harare.
The result leaves the series in the balance at 1-1, ahead of the decider on Wednesday.
Modester Mupachikwa (3
and Kelis Ndhlovu (30) provided the perfect platform for the Zimbabwe chase. The pair put on 67 cautious runs to keep the Windies opening bowlers at bay.
The hosts then lost three for three, slipping to 70 for three. Aaliyah Alleyne dismissed both openers, while Ashmini Munisar removed Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano for a duck.
