Maybe by not letting their wrist spinner watch from the sidelines. Playing him might not work but isn't it worth a try?

Now, I understand the reluctance to play him. India’s batters are notoriously accomplished players of spin, having been brought up on the discipline. Batters like Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and others in the line-up are known to dominate spin and might easily dismiss Lawes’ offerings, especially if he fails to find a decent length. But if he lands his deliveries well he could snare a few wickets and help to hold India to manageable totals. He, I believe, offers the visitors their best chance of disrupting the home team’s batting on good tracks.

They can be more competitive by being flexible, in the first match the inning lost momentum when Carty come to bat, either Carty has to be more aggressive when the team is in a good situation or get out and allow someone else to continue keeping things moving. No way Lawes should play in these matches on the type of pitches on offer.

You would be saving him for pitches that offer assistance? He is better equipped to make a difference on flat pitches since he can turn it so much and has a googly. he could be roughed up but he is worth a try. Good spin has given India trouble in India so who knows. What I think is if we play on another wicket like the last one India has the batting capacity to bat us out of the game. We need to get wickets and he has shown that he can take wickets
