Maybe by not letting their wrist spinner watch from the sidelines. Playing him might not work but isn't it worth a try?

Now, I understand the reluctance to play him. India’s batters are notoriously accomplished players of spin, having been brought up on the discipline. Batters like Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and others in the line-up are known to dominate spin and might easily dismiss Lawes’ offerings, especially if he fails to find a decent length. But if he lands his deliveries well he could snare a few wickets and help to hold India to manageable totals. He, I believe, offers the visitors their best chance of disrupting the home team’s batting on good tracks.
