Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley recently dismissed the prospect of running for the position of UN Secretary-General. [1]

While there was widespread speculation that she would be a front-runner to succeed António Guterres, she explained during a Council on Foreign Relations event that she chose not to pursue the candidacy because she has "a country to run and a region to take care of". She also humorously questioned whether the world was ready for a leader with her direct communication style.

UN Secretary General means nothing,no Political power.It is only a nice big name and their only power is a little persuasion,in political matters.No politician will take that before a PM.
