West Indies batsmen are too easily…….

….SATISFIED! As soon as they score a 100, they have a tendency to give their wickets away regardless of how many wickets and overs remain. Is it because they feel that their teammates deserve to spend time at the crease???

Contrast that to any other nation and you will find their batsmen will stay as long as possible at the wicket and keep piling on as many runs as possible for themselves as well as the team.

Is this a player problem or a coaching 🤗issue???

Remember when we grew up playing serious hardball cricket and before we went out to bat our captain and teammates would implore us to "bat all day yute man"?

That doesn't happen anymore. The refrain now is "listen yute man, go out and lick ball for 3 overs".

It's this mindset which is now instilled in young cricketers. No one wants to "bat all day" any more and in the rare occasions when they get to a 100 they are of the view that they did their job and it's now time for some one else to walk in an lash ball.

its because they are too easily motivated by criticism, and not easily motivated by pride in performance. the last two players to have enormous pride in their numbers was Lara and shiv. i believe seales is in that category as well but he's still very young. that's why they can go and blow away a team one day, and bowl absolute trash the next. there is no motivation to consistently bowl tight lines and to keep their averages and economy rates low. Curtly ambrose hated conceding runs, genuinely hated. i don't believe anybody in the west indies right now hates conceding runs
