The chief selector is clueless….his method is to hit and hope..Lawes is not ready yet

leg spin is a the most difficult skill to master in cricket…even Shane Warne struggled at the beginning..Lawes need regional or club cricket to hone his craft..way too many drag downs…the more he gets pummeled the lower his confidence will be and the worse he will bowl….vicious cycle

Fortunately, Lawes can hone his craft in our long FC season...oh wait!

He's not going to get any regional experience either.

Aren't you happy that Vitel Lawes got the opportunity?

Further, given the dearth of talet in the West Indies any selector will be experimental.

Daren Sammy can be criticized on a lot of fronts but not on this one.

Lawes displayed talent at the lower level and it would be unfair to exclude him.

.........................

If Vitel Lawes wants it he will recover. He needs to dust himself and come back fighting. Any other attitude he might as well forget it.

The curtailment of regional cricket is a sad indictment of this failed Shallow administration…

@Courtesy…I don't begrudge Lawes his opportunity but the fundamental “law” of gambling say don't bet against the house..Even a blind bartimaeus can see that Lawes is not ready..

There comes a point where desperation determines the level of risk.

I saw persons jumping from the top floors of the World Trade Centre.
