The ball did not hit the pad
the bat hit the pad

Corrected. His bat hit his pad as the ball passed. Gap between ball and bat.

If Virat Kohli were batting you think the TV Umpire would have seen that obvious gap?๐
That was one of the quickest decisions.. the TV umpire like he couldn't wait to put the batman out.
Neutral umpires are not a thing anymore?
Any umpire in the world would have given that out. That is the instruction if there is a spike when the ball is next to bat. Their job is not to assume things .

Correck... the Third umpire must have compelling reasons to overturn the decsion of the onfield umpire.

Technology was introduced to assist in getting decisions right. This was not a good use of technology offered to the TV Umpire. Let's be blunt, the TV Umpire messed up, big time.

Isn't an obvious gap between bat and ball when the spike came not compelling.
Are you even watching the game of following on misinfo?
The other rule. ... you have to walk when the umpire finger goes up. In this case his finger went up twice.
There can be a case for dissent
Disclaimer: I also do not agree with the decision ...

That Gap would have been wider than the river nile. Probably would have pulled his magnifying glass!

So then get rid of the dam technology then. The test should be eye and spike. If the bat hit the pad at the same time as the ball passed even with a wider gap should we trust the spike too? Spike can be caused by various noises and clearly in this case there is one connection that caused that spike.

And the is nonsensical because we've seen snicko spike when ball is far from bat, clothing or anything for that matter. If it's obvious to the eye then snickno should be overruled

agree
