Red Force batters to benefit
TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO’S batters are expected to benefit from a four-day development programme led by Cricket West Indies (CWI) High-Performance Batting Consultant Bob Carter, with national Red Force coach assistant Gibran Mohammed welcoming the initiative as an opportunity for both players and coaches to improve.
Carter, who is part of CWI’s six-territory Batting Development Tour, will lead the T&T leg from October 11-14, with the programme designed to assess the territory’s leading young batters, strengthen their ability to play pace and spin, and develop individual batting plans. Yesterday, Mohammed, who was part of the Red Force coaching staff, along with head coach Rayad Emrit, when the team won the 2026 West Indies Championship four-day title, described the initiative as a positive step in the development of the territory’s players and coaching personnel.
“I mean, it’s a good initiative. It’s a great initiative by Cricket West Indies to bring a batting consultant to come and work with our territory, and we welcome it,” he said. “I think everybody is excited and looking forward to what the guy has to bring. The high-performance guy would have had a lot of experience and so on. “And it’s not only the players looking to develop, also the coaches will be looking to see what are some of the best practices.”
