Match called off

22:16 Local Time, 16:46 GMT: The inevitable has happened. The players are shaking hands. The game has been called off. It was always going to be touch and go, given the weather forecast, though there were positive signs in the morning when the probability of rain dropped from 70 to 30 percent. However, persistent drizzle prevented the ground staff from getting the conditions ready. The rain finally relented at 20:30 local time, allowing the toss to take place and a start time to be set. The crowd, who had waited patiently, were treated to a brief spell of action from Ishan Kishan and Naman Dhir, but in the end, the rain had the final say. The series ends 2-2.
