Happy or sad?

What is your emotion to describe the West Indies test series win over Bangladesh?

There are persons here who will for obvious reasons stay awy from this thread.

This thread will divide the sheep from the goats and highlight the perennial haters.

As for me. I am happy.

I for one, I'm happy.

I have come to the realization after playing Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh that we as West Indian fans are impatient. That may be due in part to basing our emotions on nostalgia......or years gone by when we had Richards, Haynes, Greenidge Gomes, Lloyd etc....

Well maybe there may never be another Richards, Another opening pair like Hanes and Greenidge or another dependable middle order batsman such as Hilary Angelo Gomes, or another astute captain such as Lloyd.

What I think we do have is the making of a very good (not great) nucleus of a team. That makes it healthy for competition. With competition, there is an effort to work harder, because someone is always behind you breathing over your shoulder.

How many times have we asked to chop and change the team after one or two failures?

How many times have we criticized King, Hodge, Chase, Warrican and Tage to name a few?

I think this nucleus should be kept together:

Campbell, Tage and King as openers

Hope, Hodge, Jangoo (unchained), newcomer Wickham, Chase, Da Silva as middle order batsmen

Joshua Bishop and Greaves as all rounders and

Alzarri, Sharma, Seales, Warrican as frontline bowlers.

I think that is a good healthy mix. Everyone cannot play at the same time, but when they are called up they sure will have an incentive to put their best foot forward

What say you?

I am more than happy, I am excited and thrilled! We need to push for the win tomorrow.

Not on this wicket buddy.

I would let Jangoo make some runs.

Yep, "going for the win"is the preferred option. We should bat for 90 minutes and open the bowling with Seales and Warrican.

It's more than likely that persons who don't come forward on this thread register as HATERS.

Sharma Joseph needs more variety and control to his bowling. A the moment, he registers as a RUNS TRUCK.

We must develop a winning culture. Bangladesh batting this series has been frail especially in the 2nd innings. We have to go for it!

Too much time. 10 overs at 6 runs an over 375. We need to make them sweat!

You haffi use pyschological warfare here...Bangladesh should be ground to dust and they will submit or succumb to us.

But it's all a matter of opinion isn't it? Nothing about our strategy in the rest of this match is cast in stone.

I'm happy

How can any West Indian fan not feel good about the teams performances ?

This has building for a couple years. King/Chanderpaul/Hodge/Jangoo/Shamar/Jayden etc have been making tremendous strides.

There are other players on the periphery (Springer/Lawes/Bishop/McKenzie) they will add depth. If half of them show the kind of grit and determination that Kevin Wickham has shown in this match, we will be in good stead going forward

Just for clarification....Shamar's ave is 24...with 36s/r in TESTS which is remarkable (esp s/r)....i think you labelling him a runs truck is referring to ODI's or t20's which is true as he lacks variations ....just to remind you this is a test match so just know what yuh saying...an get it right!!😎

My POV: Sharma Joseph is ineffective on uresponsive pitches.. He needs to be more accurate, develop variety and learn how to think batsmen out. He needs to learn this quickly..
