When will officials start telling people the cold hard facts.......there must be huge reservations now on our islands badly damaged by Ivan - re WC 2007 esp Grenada.. ......and instead of being reserved, this joker comes up and tells you of his confidence on one hand and on the other expressing concern that the Grenada Gov't may not have building a stadium on its priority list................of course they do not have it as priority, the stadium was built long before Ivan and was in very good shape................ There is time and with money - miracle happens....................

If you go back and read the article in its entirety you will see it was not Dehring who made the statement indicated by the first quote above and credit for that statement must be attributed to the author of the cc.com article. Upon clearing that up in your head you should take back the potshot your targeted Dehring with in your comment. Further, if you look at the second quote above and compared it with the first you will see there is a clear instance of incongruity, which the author failed to conceal or he/she overlooked completely. The author is trying to tell readers about an impending difficulty while Dehring stated quite clearly that managing the effects of hurricanes and other natural disasters associated with the Caribbean had been "incorporated into the preparations" for the World Cup tournament in 2007 from the outset. What is so unclear about that and do you always succumb to gullibility?

Dehring thinks that the issue is what Ivan has done to Grenada. Like a true WICB man, he fails to realise that the issue is what the 2006 hurricanes will do to all their carefully chosen 2007 WC main events venues that sit right smack dab in the line of fire. Guyana is out of the line of fire, and Trinidad and Tobago is far south enough to suffer only side effects. But Barbados, Grenada, Jamaica and the other island venues can find themselves in difficulty if the 2006 hurricane season is unkind. What is the WICB/ICC plan for this possibilty?? I have a feeling that there is no plan, that this was not considered when choosing venues. The WICB would be well advised to start working on a backup plan to go to if any of their main venues are knocked out by hurricanes in 2006. Caribbean governments and people are not good at planning even when given adequate notice, I don't think that they will do well if given last minute notice after the 2006 hurricane season.
