West Indies vice captain Ramnaresh Sarwan says he was "surprised and disappointed" at being dropped from the side for the second Test against Pakistan but vows to learn and grow from the experience.
"I see this disappointment as only making me stronger. I have gotten over much worse than this in my life and my career and overcoming this obstacle is not going to be any different for me," the right-hander said in a diary entry.

On a personal note I was surprised and disappointed that I wasn't playing in this test. But I still have a responsibility to support my team-mates which I have always done on and off the field. I see this disappointment as only making me stronger. I have gotten over much worse than this in my life and my career and overcoming this obstacle is not going to be any different for me.
I have done it in the past so this is just another test of my character. I am working hard as usual and whenever given the opportunity again I will try my utmost to ensure that I use it wisely.

I find it difficult to understand why they dropped ronnie for a slight hiccup with form and can only conclude, like most, that its an off the field matter. Of course, brian should be the last to talk, given his own discipline record, but for the good of the team and fairness to all, he should be reinstated for the next test.
I've never seen Ronnie drunk and disorderly, unlike others on this same team. He is no more a womaniser than most and I saw no reason to publicly embarass the vice captain. A quiet word would surely have sufficed and a public announcement of an upset stomach or feeling lethargic, would have done the trick.
As dearly as i love the little master's batting, he's the last to talk of an attitude problem

Falling is not the problem, it is teh ability and character to get up and keep going that matters most. Never repeat teh same mistake. It makes you stronger.
