I have to say that Ridley's name does look out of place in the company of those luminaries.

I voted for Rohan Kanhai , he was, in my opinion one of the best batsmen in the world .

I always fondly recall a West Indies Tour to England , and in a County match ,one saturday morning listening to the incomparable John Arlott saying " BY GOD KANHAI IS MAD THIS MORNING " . Such was the savagery , and contempt that he dispatched the ball to varoius parts of the boundary .

Unfortunately , I only had the opportunity to see him once , in Barbados , where he made only 40 runs , before being bowled by a beauty from Freddie Truman .

That man was the original master blaster, original little master and the original Tiger! If you were lucky enough to watch him bat, gawd bless you.

if you have not, buy the '73 WI/England series and watch that innings. what you see there is a calm, matured masters (him and Sobers) at work. He was much more aggressive during his younger years. Many of the past WI batsmen in his era wrote bout him.
