I was very disappointed when I was told by the doctor that there was a small hairline fracture on my right foot.
It meant that I would have to miss the One Day series and return home. It's the second time that I have been injured for the year. Injury has cost me two Test matches in New Zealand earlier this year and now five ODIs here in Pakistan.

Disappointing year indeed, and that's putting it mildly.
A year in which he averaged 29.53 with the bat would be better described as a disastrous one, for him, but especially for WI, who had a #3 batsman who hardly batted at all, by the standards of #3 batsmen.
It's very small consolation that the others did little better than him, with the highest average being 41, only 2 batsmen averaging more than 40, and not a batsman averaging more than 50 for the year.
A test team cannot bat like that and win.
When you add bowling that consists of 1 emerging but inexperienced and not too effective fast bowler, plus 3 or 4 more virtually useless fast bowlers who hardly out anyone before the score is 300+, disappointment must be the only option.
It's clear that the very expensive million dollar pretender coach and his attendant flower girls have achieved nothing and are achieving nothing in the test arena, and one questions if the better results attained in ODIs are related in any way to their activities.
I wouldn't get my hopes up too high about winning WC 2007 at this point in time. I'll wait to see what, if anything, will be done to change the trend.

Very please to hear your comment Sarwan, lets put that year behind you and focus on making runs come the new year. I wish you all the best over the holidays, its a good time to put the negatives behind and come the new year and play well.

No. Not another year of that shyte. Year after year, the same shyte of "put behind" and "ignore negatives" when they underperform.
What the ass else but negatives there? And what else you expect next year?
No....it's time to start the search for replacements for all those who playing for 4, 5, 6, 7 years as batsmen and still averaging less than 40.
They are the ones causing the losses. If you want WI to win, if you want WI to turn the corner, if you want WI to rise to the top again, you cannot keep on turning blind eyes to failing mediocrities, keep "putting behind" the shyte players who keep the team firmly on the losing track.
We have to bite the bullet and call them out...NOW.
The alternative is to accept losses with no complaint whatsoever. If you want mediocre homeboys to play, don't bitch about losses when <40 average batsmen batting at #3 for WI, becuase that is a sure recipe for losing.
