In reply to Kurt
if they omit him then it means something has happened... there is no smoke without fire.. we should include him and prove he is indeed innocent...

Like Kurt said...ICC don't want any hint of corruption in WC...and Samuels may be omitted for that reason...right or wrong....Windies cannot allow controversies to cloud their tournament...millions at stake!

Call me naive but I am convinced that a West Indian cricketer would never sell out his team for money. A Test cricketer is right at the top echelon of our society and I know that the players know how important the team is to the West Indian public. I am outright rejecting the accusation.

Report from India Times
Nagpur police was quoted by the TV channel as saying that it has stumbled upon startling revelations, including taped phone conversations, allegedly between Samuels and Kochchar.
Kochchar, reportedly an aide of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, had allegedly called up Samuels in Room No 206 of Hotel Pride, located just a kilometre away from the airport in Nagpur.
The police however clarified that the SIM card used to make the calls was not registered in Kocher's name. Further investigations are on to get to the bottom of this scandal.
The BCCI is said to have received a letter from Nagpur police, mentioning definitive proof in the telephone conversation

I just looked at the ICC regulations here
Note it is not actually a violation of these regulations to provide the type of info marlon is alledged to have provided, only to receive "money, benefit or other reward" for so doing.
As they have no proof that Marlon received such compensation he might be able to squeeze through the loop-hole in the laws.
However, every player is required to report any approach made to him by a book-maker. Marlon might plausibly be able to deny that he knew the individual in question was a book-maker or might even be able to say that he reported the approach, provided he could get someone to back up that claim.
Regardless, if marlon is leaking team strategies to individuals unconnected to the team he deserves to be disciplined and that has nothing to do with ICC regulations but basic team discipline.
