Ditto. I'll wait.

Nothing like starting some anti-WI cass cass before the World Cup. Funny how gambling is illegal in India but the police and the bookies meet to share notes.
Anyway the WI still not voting for Powar.

Hear nuh man.....the question of whether he get money or not is moot.....if it can be proven that he give away team information to ah stranger.......he has to be sanctioned, first and foremost by the WICB.

I assume as part of the team's training, matters such as these are discussed.
Like DO's and DON'Ts, cultural nuances especially when they are travelling, etc.

What a shame! If he did not make a report to his Captain or his Manager about that phone call then he is in violation of the ICC code of conduct as set v out on page 3 of the link.
It is as simple as that.He might have done it in ignorance. but that is no excuse. The WIPA may have thought it fit to inform all players of these rules. Remember we have so many naive young people involved in the game, you have to tell them everything. Even how to dress for certain occasions ect ect.

Folks I like the majority on this MB believe in 'innocent before guilty'. So far all I am seeing is alleged conversations between some shady dude and Marlon. There is not enough evidence here. For a crime to have been committed, there needs to be proof that not only did Marlon provide 'inside' information but he received compensation in return for the info. Without the compensation the alleged incident changes from crime to 'poor judgement'.

Question, what if it was somebody that Marlon met say at an official function who was curious about certain things. Would Marlon have been advised before hand to not disclose certain info? Anyone one with knowledge as to what the players are advised to say and not say.

In reply to anandgb The problem with situation like this is that even if nothing comes of it, Samuels will always hear it from the people in the sands especially when he misfields or get out for low or no score. The catcalls will be there asking if the fix is in, if he call his bookie etc.

Anyway you take it, it the conversation is one that he has to wish he could take back. No matter what spin is put on this it is a very unfortunate scenario that could kill a career that just might have been getting on track.
