When greeted with what was then a rumour that Bob Woolmer was dead, and asked to try to get some official confirmation, I never imagined that "dead" meant "expired".

Instead, I assumed "dead" meant that the Pakistan Cricket Board had not waited until the team's return to Pakistan but rather had terminated his contract immediately, even though Pakistan has one more match to play in the World Cup, after which his contract was to end.

Nice piece.

(If Pak made 15 more, they would have won)

Thank You Michelle,
Very much appreciate this "inside" info that puts this kind of situation into perspective. Hopefully the speculation will ease somewhat as we await official medical info.
RIP Mr. Woolmer

Hopefully the speculation will ease somewhat as we await offcial medical info.

To be absent from the body is to be present with Christ. May he who had victory over
the grave be merciful, that the soul of the Dearly Departed may be cradled in the lap
of righteousness and find peace in its genesis. Grant strength to the family in their time
of need and reassurance that you are still in control.

Spoke to a friend who just came in from Sri Lanka (she lives there) when I told her the news she re-affirm
What I was thinking and stressed this is not an isolated case, and I was worried about the
Errors the WI captain made in the first match.

In reply to DreamaWhat did you just type?

Please explain the last part more so to a lay person...you seem to be speaking in tongues.

Great piece Yammy.

I like the fact that you were more concerned with the mood and emotions rather that the obvious facts of the match.

Way to go.

Mr. Woolmer the price of this defeat was way too much. RIP.

A friend just in from Sri Lanka suggested he might have been assisted.

You know the bigger point is the way these journalists hound coaches and cricketers while trying to make names for themselves. A few should be searching their soulness bodies for some answers tonight.
