When greeted with what was then a rumour that Bob Woolmer was dead, and asked to try to get some official confirmation, I never imagined that "dead" meant "expired".

Instead, I assumed "dead" meant that the Pakistan Cricket Board had not waited until the team's return to Pakistan but rather had terminated his contract immediately, even though Pakistan has one more match to play in the World Cup, after which his contract was to end.

What I was thinking and stressed this is not an isolated case, and I was worried about the

A friend just in from Sri Lanka suggested he might have been assisted.

You know the bigger point is the way these journalists hound coaches and cricketers while trying to make names for themselves. A few should be searching their soulness bodies for some answers tonight.

I know what you mean. I sometimes sit in press conferences and when I hear some questions that my colleagues ask, I shake my head.

When I also listen to their cell phones ring....not vibrate, but ring with loud music, I shake my head.

I've read that Mr Woolmer was media savvy, so I guess he took it all in stride.

The thought that keeps going through my mind, is that he was alone. There was no one with him to help him. No one with him to cradle him as he slipped away.

I live alone and that is my greatest fear, so that resonnated/ressonated...dat spell wrong!.....with me.

Chrissy, whilst it is extremely sad news that Bob WOOLMER has passed away, you should not be criticising anyone for the manner in which they conduct themselves when dealing with coaches. Cast your mind back to the terrible and racist things that you have said on this site about Bennett KING for the last couple of years or as you call him Great White Hope, PE Teacher. He is a human being just like Bob WOOLMER, trying to succeed in his career of choice and over the term of his contract he has endured similiar stress. It's never ceases to amaze me how short some people's memories.

Really sad news. When I heard it last night I remembered reading about an English manager-Ken Barrington who died after watching a day's play at Kensington. Look how history repeats it self eh.

I understood what you were saying Dreama. Most of us here can become quite beligerent but I have not forggoten the context in which this forum is conducted...it is A RUMSHOP. Irony is I dont drink Rum. :lol: I digress. The Autopsy is today and my heart goes out to the Pakistani Team,especially Inzi. Our Journalists do do their darndest to create a name for themselves. Some with decorum ,others like the tabloids. We the public still consume it,however it is served and for that, we too play a part. I am mindful to never cuss or destructively critize players or coaches...they are human beings with short careers. This shocking death is indeed the PAUSE that should refresh.

The very same Michael Holding can teach you, your parents and your friends much more than you will ever learn about the game of cricket from the ignorant people you tend to hang around. Because Holding is not tied to anyone it means he can be upfront with all of his commentaries. Can you honestly make the same claim?

Poor Chrissy has to spend all of her time congratulating herself and criticising others on this site, you obviously have small person complex and feel the need to be acknowledged by people constantly. Say what you will about Bennett KING,when you have been deemed suitably accredited to coach international teams then you can criticise with immunity. You never will and as such you remain a big mouth on a small website. You should consider that the people you constanly degrade are human beings with families who love them, you could not hope to achieve what Bennett KING has, so what gives you the right to talk about him the way that you do?
