I see a whole lot of you talking about how "it's terrible that Bob has died" and some say "it's just terrible". Well I do not understand what's so terrible! We all are going to die sometime - indications are he did not suffer much - he did not live to an old age where he became a burden to others and played a game his whole life - had some success and got paid for it plus he died during the World Cup - the FIRST in the Caribbean - for that he will forever be remembered.....at least every 4 years!!

So what's so terrible - come to think of it yuh all don't like White people so why the weeping and mourning? Yuh all did not want a White man to coach the Windies - so how cum Bob is a good guy, or is it the White man is acceptable as long as he does not come too close to us?

Hipocrisy abound!!

And for those blaming journalists - that's the most stupid thing I have seen in a long while....come on now!!! You took a position that you KNOW is high stress because of expectation - right?? Then be prepared to face criticisms!! And how about us always asking journalists to ask the tough questions - so what, ask the tough question as long as it does not stress the guy to death - is that it? Joke!!

When Admin sat down with the 70-odd year ole Gordon and threw tough questions under Gordon's rump, what if Gordon had died - would we be blaming Admin? Or would we excuse him because he is one of us?

If you cannot tek the heat get out of the kitchen.

Pakistan has a lot more problems that its cricket .....may your soul rest in peace Bob. And may your death serve to remind the naysayers/critics that the performers (coaches/players) do care and do give their best, but sometimes our best is just not good enough.

I must admit I don't quite understand what or where HumbleCalf is coming from but we have ALL allowed this spirit of competition to control us and to cause us speak all manner of evil against each other, the players, coaches, managers, etc. Even when we make seemingly idiotic statements we must get back to the point where we respect the opinions of others.

There are three things I raised in the post - not sure what you do not quite get, but here's a condensed version:
1. What's so terrible?. The man lived a good life - got paid for playing a game and got paid for coaching players for a game. He passed away peacefully.

2. Dislike for the White man. We do not like the White man - never wanted a White man to coach the Windies, why the mourning?

3. Blaming journalists. You cannot blame the journalists for doing their job - they must continue to keep up the heat to hopefully keep the incumbents honest.

"What is so terrible?"...the fact that a man died as a result of a fucking GAME, and what makes it worse he wasnt playing, a coach can only do so much. Those people on the subcontinent need to recognise that there is more to life than cricket. His family will now be in pain because of a friggin GAME...Yes at the end of the day it was a friggin GAME

"He passed away peacefully."

How do you know this? Be honest with yourself would you have the same view if he was your dad or brother or a close friend? As Dorsa said in the end it's just a game and it will be hard to convince anyone that his death and the defeat were mutually exclusive events. Those people on the subcontinent and we West Indians need to also recognise that there is more to life than cricket. We may not burn houses and effigies but we poison with our tongues.

So you and Dorsa are saying it's terrible because he passed away over a game, Is that correct?

OK, fair enough, I assume you have no issue with my other two points then......awright, so here goes...

Which other way of passing away is acceptable to you - if he died in a car accident is that better? How about trying to solve world poverty? No? Is it that all forms of expiration is terrible? Maybe it's time you guys accept that passing/expiration is a part of life - it's just that it's the end part.

BTW, I have to laugh when people use the word expiration in the above sense......I see it used in that way mostly by people from the subcontinent.

...... WTF...Is this true? Who is 'yuh all?'

Is that CC.com the collective?

This is a serious statement man.

I know I am not one of those who are of that veiw.

I don't think those who object to the West Indies having a white coach means they don't like white people.

I find your conclusion peurile when issues are way more deep.

I am deeply sad that someone died and it don't matter what is the person's colour. I dare say this is how most feel. If you know of people on here who are celebrating because a white person died then say so and don't lump everybody together.

I would say you are a scunt for saying that but I will not.
