In reply to HumbleCalf Your analogy is humorous, may even be reality..
But you are extrapolating way too much when it comes to yesterday's posts re Woolmer lol

Hmmm the thread is trying to call to your attention how you live with people and treat them while they are alive. Quite frankly when one is dead it's too late.

Too often we treat other in a terrible way - say the worst possible things - never once stopping to wonder what effect it may have.......and when the person dies we start our cow bawling.

Geez mate, all you had to do was say the above instead of posting all that other tripe and people would have seen your point.

Did Woolmer know what his captain, Cronje, was doing or not?

Surely an experienced coach should be able to pick up if all his players were trying?

When people die they are always talked about as saints. But finding out the truth means asking tough questions.

I rarely take Rollingcalf seriously but the fact is nuff nastiness was associated with both teams he coached. All questions must be asked.

In reply to Chrissy

"Bob did not let on that he had been present when, on a previous tour of India, the whole South African team had met in Mumbai and considered accepting money from an Indian bookmaker to throw a one-day match.

Cronje had led the negotiations with the bookmaker but in the end the team rejected the offer. "

This puts Woolmer in a whole different light to me.

How could an honest coach not make this public immediately?

Crissy I usualy respect your views but recently....hummmmm. Take a look at the first paragraph of the original post that started this thread.... is it really reflective of the situation today??

General Humblecalf
this designation is fitting as I just read a whole heap of generalization with a good side serving of tastelessness in your post.
Not withstanding that.I do understand what you are tryingto say but as was demonstrated by several posters...you could have given this a lil more thought.I find it difficult to sit by while you and that broad assed brush you got in your hand bruising ppls characters so recklessly.
like admin i can give u a two. and thats just for getting some attention herein.

There are two former West Indian test cricketers who are present at the World Cup as coaches, and a third who is present as coach designate. If any one of them had been allegedly murdered, the story would not have occupied more than two sentences in the World press.

Nonsese. Any coach murdered in Woolmer's circumstances would be international news.

What was Woolmer's position on the fact that his two leading seam bowlers were unavailable to play in the World Cup as a result of drug taking?

This is the B-side.
