In reply to CaribbeanCricket.com It is young(30-45) people with vision,drive and a love of the sport who need to drive this.The problem is the entrenched people all over 50 who still control WI cricket.Therein lies the dilemma facting WI cricket.Chetty and Jackie are typical examples of the entrenched ruling class and we have to rise up and overthrow them.

The article is not too substantiative; he did not elaborate on Brian Lara who did indicate retiring from ODIs only. The way the writer spoke of his retirement one may get the impression Brian is leaving the game but he would be playing Test for as long as he can - his own words.
I like the article generally save the dismissive attitude towards the over 50's. Arawak, you and I have much to offer; dont allow this youth to keep us back especially when our backs are yet strong eh bwoy.

The fire of revolutionary zeal still burn ember bright red in Kenny G's heart with regards to the development of Windies youth cricket! 
I could remember the day you mentioned King, Lawson, Gayle, and a couple of other players back in 1998 when they were still outside of WI and on cusp of being selected to the senior WI team. At that time we seemed to think that Windies had the making of a fine bowling attack. Alsa, it became a case of opportunity lost.
