What's midstream? Obviously the WICB is an organization in flux so they can make any change as they see fit.

Like I said there is no enshrined constitutional edict that would be violated if Ganga was made captain ahead of sarwan, i just hope that whoever it is would be supported and ready for the job.

Well the criteria really are incidental to the premise of something being sinister-as was once claimed-for two captains to come from the same country as the president wink

Moreover, I seem to recall as big hue and cry when the recommendation of the selector was ignored and the President/Board opted to go in another direction with regard to the captaincy.

In a word, the main issue is one of consistency....big grin

1. He was part of a winning team
2. He performed very well in his last test

The last time this was mention.....Dukes was on here like shot to point out that Samuels...had poor recent form.....and that`s the only reason he was dropped !!!!

Unfortunately, all of these big ideas about the criteria to choose the captain has been created simply to screw Sarwan. It shows that the more they claim things change the more they remain the same. I don't think Sars should be the Captain but why not just say so or appoint him for one tour. After all he has been Vice for two terms. Why all this intrigue? Andy Roberts wants Bouncing Joseph but I believe Ganga would be a better choice right now. As I have said before Sars has discipline and fitness problems and he is part of the most indisciplined group in this present team.Ganga seems to be a natural leader and he is not afraid to drop the axe when needs be.

sarwan has no birthright to captain the wi. from what i saw at the games he seems fat, unfit and disinterested. maybe he will improved his fitness regime once captain.

i believe he will be made cappo because it is the logical thing to do for continuity stake.

however if wi go a different route i see only ganga as an alternative. Joseph is too far removed to be cappo unless all the front line players are dropped or a scab team selected.

and despite you think roberts believe wi cricket decisions are not driven in Antigua.

let me give you a hint who expose all thing crap. where did it gain momentum?

In reply to Larr Pullo thirty mile jog will put him infront of Clide Butts home at Perseverance Mahaicony. Unity is about 23 miles.

Folks.

Ganga has not been included in the ODI, therefore he is not an automatic choice for captaincy of ODI. They will play 3 Tests & 4 ODIs.

Since Sarwan is qualified for both levels, I don't see them messing with the rebuilding process, by selecting an uncertain/unkown quantity at this time.

Moreover, what does rebuilding means in the WICB? After $1million plus and two years at it, you cannot defend 300 runs.

I suggest that the WICB, withdraw from the TEST & ODI and rebuild
at home. Don't send more
fodder for others to set records at our expense case in point, the recent Pakistan & Sri Lanka's recent tours.

Only five men are "automatic" choices to thw West Indies team at present, and one of them is hanging by a thread. Messrs Shiv, Fat Boy Sars, Onry, Taylor and Powell can pack their bags for England. Everybody else, including Ganga, needs to wait. Bravo could probably hold an overnight bag.

But to me it was just last week we were lamenting the Partridge Report? Bemoaning the fact that we were now receiving confirmation of much that we had already either suspected or surmised. Sarwan will lead this team alright, in consumption of KFC / Pepsi / Johnny Black.

We said that Lara was leading the WI under-25 team that we are assembling to ruin and despair because of his bad attitude towards training and preparation. yet I hear people now VEX because WICB wants the next WI captain to be disciplined and fit?

Don;t remember seing anyone say anything like that at all.

99% of the people here have been crying for more discipline and fitness from teh players. Only a selected few unionists have been crying that the players are disciplined.

Good point. What a limited definition for stakeholders.According to them the ppl who spend their hard earned cash to watch cricket are not stakeholders.
The more things change, the more they remain the same.

I am one who would like to see Sarwan get the opportunity to lead the West Indies. But I am wondering
why is it that the new criteria are seen as a means of disqualifying Sarwan. I think many on this MB are doing a disservice to Sarwan by making the argument that somehow these criteria are a means of disqualifying him. If it is self-evident that Sarwan does not meet those criteria, then it seems to me that he does not deserve to be captain.

That's exactly the point I was making. He does NOT deserve to be Captain. But why not just say so? Why are they beating around the bush? This ame WICB destroyed him by appointing him Vice Captain before he was mature enough. But you will remember, this was a compromise deal to get rid of Hooper.
Since then Sars has become arrogant and fat and has a serious drinking problem. I asked the Guyanese here weeks ago to give us the details on why he was thrown out of the popular Hotel Bar on Middle Street in GT.
