West Indies batsman Runako Morton said he was happy to have assisted his team in getting to 237 for 4 at the end of day one after starting badly against Somerset in their first and only warm up game before taking on England.
"The team really needed that one today and I am happy I was able to put my hand up today and contribute," Morton said after hitting an aggressive and unfinished 103.

Very good knock Morton , also Chanderpaul . You did exactly what is needed during stop & start matches , also water breaks & Lunch , Tea & close of play .
Those as you realize are cricial times when players focus and mental aptitude have to be exerted to maximum output .
Today both you and Chanderpaul exhibited those essential qualities ; hopefully the others would follow the example set by you and Chanderpaul in this regard .

This is exactly what's needed to be a sucessful team,positive attitude and a pair of batsmen to stand and deliver when the others have failed.
I really don't care who does it or which country he's from,the fact remains we play as a team.

In reply to dravid ... and for the team its very important to have the rite personnel at 5 and 6. For mamy a great teams have been 40/4 but go on to score a fighting total for their bowlers. Team selection is more important than we some times realise, regardless of where them come from.
