Line and Length with pace is better Fidel.
Looks like Fidel is in the starting line up.
I don't understand why Fidel has such mediocre figures. Even guys like Hayden looks uncomfortable playing him. I suppose he gives to many loose balls.

*If* I was making the decisions, I'd open with Smith and Gayle, put Ganga in Lara's spot.
That gives me Gayle, Smith, Sarwan, Ganga, Shiv, Morton...
Pencil in Bravo and Ramdin and you *theoretically* have enough batting to go with three pacers.
They are, in order of priority, Collymore, Powell, Taylor.

Bravo is the the 4th bowler then? Can we defend a total or restrict England with that attack. Anything more than 400 and it's going to be tough.

It's always going to be tough, even with Lara. I'm picking the best XI with what I have available.
I'm using Bravo, Gayle and Sarwan as bowlers with a constant rotating to keep the three pacers fresh-ish.

I don't understand how you could even think about playing only 4 bowlers. You need to get through 90 overs in a day, and hope to take 5 or more wickets in that time. Only Collyweed is going to be bowl well for any extended period of time, and thoughts of using Sarwan as more than a quick change are optimistic at best.
With the squad we have, you'd have to do something like this:

If we field a lineup with Bravo batting at six we are already in trouble.
If we field a line up with 4 bowlers with Bravo, Colly and Powell as three we in bigger trouble.
Its seems like Sars having a chat with everyone telling them what he expects of the.

I agree with you. It is Bravo at 7 and 3 fast bowlers. Sarwan and the "greatest spinner in the WI" will have some work to do as well.

3 bowlers and Bravo. 4 quickies will not make a difference (because the 4th is not that good) so why give up a batsman.

Everyone seems to be gelling well acording to Gayle diary.
Saying that it was a different atmosphere adjustment in 2004.Everybody is rallying around each other and working together
This is de 1st test and both Rampaul & Sammy are inexperience, Edwards or Smith will play.

Of course he is. Don't you get it? We have an opener averaging 27 and nobody could beat him out of that position. And HE had the best average last year.

Ganga's average is in the mid to upper 40's in test cricket since the Indian tour to the WI. He has improved a lot and should be determined on his recent past and not his earlier history in WI cricket. There are other players in this team that has good averages in their earlier years in the WI team and has fallen drastically in their latter years. One should look at the players that are improving instead of averages. Ganga has been one of the most improved batsmen in the WI and also one of the most solid and level headed person around. Definitely an asset to this team.
