HEADLINE: Perform for your pay

West Indies players have been put on notice that their performances and their pay are inextricably linked.
Cricket West Indies boss Dave Cameron has stated that senior West Indies players need to come to grips with the harsh reality of their performance-based requirements. He stressed that experience alone would no longer count in the issuing of central retainer contracts.
Speaking against the backdrop of the furore arising from Darren Bravo’s rejection of a Grade C contract last year, Cameron argued that Windies players now controlled their own future as once they performed, they and not CWI dictated the quality of contract they received.
The often controversial Cameron also contended that seasoned players needed to translate that experience into performances instead of hoping for a high level retainer based on their length of time in international cricket.
“Everyone has been talking for years, we want performance contracts, we want performance contracts. Now we’ve put in performance contracts and now we have a problem,” Cameron told Massy Insurances Life and Length Network in a wide-ranging interview.

Has anyone issued the same edict to Cameron? What about his performance and pay? Shouldn't they be inextricably linked too?

That should read:
Players, Perform for your pay...
Members, sing for your supper...

THAT IS AN EXCEEDINGLY ASININE COMMENT
IF IT DOES NOT INCLUDE ALL THE MEMBERS
OF CWI , AKA CRICKET WORST IDIOTS .
It is high time that People demand
through their respective Governments
precisely what has the Worst International Cricket Board in the
Commonwealth done to improve the
competitiveness of our Players & Team
in the International Cricket Arena .
There can be absolutely no excuse from Cameron & Co for the current state of West Indies Cricket . It is incumbent on those in CWI to ensure
that Our Players are fully competitive in the International Cricket Arena .
THAT IS THEIR FREAKING JOB AND THEY
HAVE YET TO DEMONSTRATE THAT THEY ARE
CAPABLE OF MAKING OUR PLAYERS FULLY
COMPETITIVE IN INTERNATIONAL CRICKET .
The current statistics is proof of that freaking fact . CWI needs to stop placing all the blame for the
state of Cricket on the Players , and
have a Soul searching and honest examination of its Members .
THEY seem to mistakenly believe that
they are absolved of any responsibility for the current state
of Cricket in the Region but that surely aint True .
IF PAY MUST BE BASED ON PERFORMANCES
THAT MUST ALSO APPLY TO ALL THE
MEMBERS OF CWI . WHAT IS GOOD FOR THE
GOOSE MUST ALSO BE GOOD FOR THE
GANDER .
I do not expect that the Sycophants in the Media will utter a word about
Members of CWI pay must be based on
its Members Performance .
I am however very , very sure that they will embrace that concept to players . THEY in my opinion , as I have continuously stated also bear
some responsibility with regard to the current state of Cricket in the
Region .

In essence WE have a 3 legged Stool ,
but only one leg representing the Players is being castigate for the
state of Cricket in the Region .
ALL THREE LEGS , NAMELY CWI , THE
SPORTS MEDIA & THE PLAYERS MUST BEAR
SOME RESPONSIBILITY .
However 2 of these 3 legs are in collusion to blame the 3rd leg , namely the Players ; who are always
taking the brunt of CWI & the Sports
Media Criticism .

It's called presidential privilege. That is the reason why people aspire to become presidents, CEO's and head large companies. ... there are huge benefits

The president's pay isn't much to write home about to be honest. Their are more higher paid workers in WICB than the president.

It is the messenger that everyone seem to be upset with.
A number of contract to established pros are base on former performance, if King James contract was up for renewals, Cleveland would give him the stadium and the city, it is base on his performance, winning a championship and getting to the finals.
Other contracts for Rookies and others are base on expectations, and what he can do for the team.
If I were DD, I would leave all players issues up to the Director of cricket and the CEO, let them outline to the public all issues, relating to cricket
He already erred in saying Darren had an A contract, which was fault.
Setting contract standards is nothing new, some even carry incentives, so that players can earned more money.

Performance based contract is one of the best policies from the current Admin.

Whole world knows that the team is going to not win much including the players themselves...What performance are we talking about here?
May be WICB wants to further cut the salary so starting a tune... I expect the more pay cuts for players so that WICB has more money for the "Development of WI Cricket".
Drop all the experienced players so that you always have a bunch of kids for who any money is good money and will not question.

Great decision Dave that's your best policy since administering the CWI. I have been advocating for that policy for years. There are no "free food" in cricket, one has to earn their pay like the rest of us, by putting up strong numbers or no pay! I like it, no more passengers!

There are a hell of a lot more Passengers in the Regional Boards &
in CWI , aka Cricket Worst Idiots .
They have bluntly refused to make the
Structures of the Regional Boards &
CWI have any semblance of Professionalism .
The current standing of our Team in the International Cricket Arena is
undeniable fact , that they have failed the Region .

You are so on Point, for if Administration of CWI and Selectors lose their pay checks whenever WI loses, I can bet any money that they would stop selecting weak and crappy teams, in fact they would beg experience players to come back to the team!

Presidents usually only get a stipend, along with the benefits of course. The CEO is where the dollars at. President don't get near as half as much as the CEO does. Not from the reported figures i does see for CEO in the media.
