Good luck to the Jaguars. My Bermuda played them in a friendly/warmup the other day. Hopefully they'll manage a better debut contest than we (a tough 2-1 loss to Haiti).
That said, the US is a heck of a challenge.

Yep - one of dad's youngest sister's grandsons - Anthony Jeffrey- he's born in England but his father and maternal grandparents are Guyanese by birth-
Was a youth player at Arsenal.

They're cocky against the smaller CONCACAF nations, so it's always a delight to see them stumble.

Jamaica won so that's something. And Haiti as well.

Not many of Indian descent play football at a higher domestic level in either Guyana or Trinidad. Certainly nowhere compared to representation in cricket.
That is noti to say there aren’t really good footballers of Indian descent in either country. There are. But they’re few.
Same for putagee, chinese etc. Football in both countries is, and has always been dominated by players of African descent.

In Bermuda there aren't many white fellas playing at our top level in cricket or football, it's like it's not encouraged for whatever reason (racial tension? culture clash?), despite there being talent at youth ranks. Do you think there's something similar happening in T&T/Guyana for football with the fellas of Indian descent? May make for an interesting case study.

In reply to imusicI have followed TT football forever and always see quite good Indo footballers at college level,many expected to to make it at a higher level.The next time you hear about them they are in an American University.I can definitely recall Javid Mohammed who was a talked about defender,and expected to play for TT,ended up in USA on scholarship,back to TT and never hear bout him again.He was actually captain of TT under 17 or under 19 a few years ago.More recent than Mohammed was Dass,he is on a scholarship in the US.Four or 5 years ago there were 3 Indos on the Under 17 team much was expected of them all 3 played and one scored,I don't remember their names.I think those Indos are doing the right thing by taking their studies more than football simply because we are shit at football.Just a few weeks ago TT called up and Indo from Santa Flora for training but he has been given a contract with a Canadian club.
I feel sure Mr.Sat Maharaj will be proud of them,not so Mr.Fitzgerald Hinds.
