"just recently he was West Indies T20 captain"

Emir 2019-10-09 10:59:39

The challenge at times was too much for the SKNP captain, Carlos Brathwaite, who lost his head after attempting to run out Lendl Simmons when the ball was obviously “dead”.’ He argued with the umpire who had to restrain the agitated Simmons from responding in kind. It was awful to witness such behaviour on a cricket field, especially from the captain of a team. What example is being set for the other players? And, just recently he was the West Indies T20 captain!

He was only following the game plan of his successor when it comes to exhibiting bad behavior on the field of play.

Kholi, Viv, Ponting, Steve Waugh are all great captains who have behaved poorly on the field. You know what I want us to win, and I dont care about our captain being a nice guy. Nice guys finish last. I am tired of us being loved and beaten everyday.

to be fair....CB had all the raw materials to be a great fast bowler: height, strength, agility.......but poor coaching has him as a spinner in a hurry who can occasionally engage in cow lashing. He and holder are proofs of the failure of the WI coaching system,. 6'7 and 6'5 and bowling 2mph rolleyes rolleyes rolleyes

pollard usually makes the teams he's bought for or selected for. ask carlos where he spent the majority of this year's IPL. Unlike the WI under cameron, the teams pollard plays for care about winning, not big strong yes men. And pollard was always a batman. Even when he was picked for the world cup, it was as a batsman. Holder didn't know his role originally and brathwaite is a joke

Yeah you are right. Because apparently one can't be a good sportsman AND a winner too.

Brathwaite use to bowl mid to high 80s. Got steep bounce and bowled a nice leg cutter. Was a nice bowling talent and composed batter who could score good runs lower down the order. I'm not sure where his bowling went downhill.

I remember he had a horrible slip during the regional T20 or can't remember if it was already the CPL at the time. His bowling didn't seem to be the same since.

T20 destroyed his career. Brathwaite was always a good batsman, but living up to big hitting wasn't his thing. Who remembers his 3 test half centuries? All against good bowling attacks.

At the end of the day, it's good he got some riches from T20 because with the way his bowling has been for the last few years, he definitely wouldn't have made it long in other formats.

In terms of Carlos performance in test matches, yes after 3 tests he averages 46.

Please remember that he has a FC average of 28...T20 of 15, ODI of 16 and List A of 21.

Would Carlos make any ODI team? A test team?

Not saying you're wrong, but the only speeds ive seen carlos bowling is mid 70s ever since his debut against bangladesh in 2013 or sumthin......cant remember the exact year. Secondly, i define a good batsman as someone firstly, who's technique can be scrutinized by international bowling and not found to be wanting.

We all thought kirk edwards was the answer to our prayers after his hundred on debut..........and then he went to england and was destroyed as a test player. he didn't perform too badly in the odis(the white ball generally does not swing as prodigiously as the red ball) that followed and i think he was set to be part of the world cup squad when DJ was cappo(one year before the tournament) before that abhorrent fool cameron came into the picture.

Brathwaite does have a test avg of 45....but you have to qualify that. three of his 3 50s were made in hopeless situations where he chanced his arm as any tailender facing an innings defeat would do. The melbourne test, his debut had already been lost and he shared a partnership with ramdin, who also scored a 50. Dropped twice and dismissed on a no ball twice i think. I dont think brathwaite can stand up to someone like rabada or cummins or bumrah

Gave me cause to check this out...so not ture. None of the current WI top bats averages below 29...that includes John Campbell, Kraig B, Shope, Shety, Darren B and Sugar Shane. Not sure where you got that from.

Cheers!

His international stats suck balls.

But I don't have too much of a problem with Pouty's cricketing abilities. It's his piss poor behiavour, attitude, and general arrogant disposition which turns me off supporting him as captain of the Wondies.

The man walks around like he has achieved as much in his cricketing career as Viv or Sobers.
