Will you play him against India?

imusic 2019-11-14 19:05:42

In reply to Larr Pullo

Nah, I don't consider him a bowler of any note.

Guy's a performer in T20s.

Badree wasn't considered a bowler of note and yet there he was

Good point

In reply to imusic Always underrated him until this last CPL. His wishy washy pipsqueak run up is not impressive.

Good on KOK, but I'm still left to wonder why the Soldier didn't bowl more that 2 overs.

It's not like he was getting knocked around. He had figures of 1 for 5 in those two overs.

imusic 2019-11-14 19:39:08

In reply to Drapsey

Maybe Soldier was being held back for the death but wasn't needed. That's a good position to be in.

That's the conclusion I came to

Good reasoning Musicman. The skipper had many options because of the way things unfolded. Like you said, nice stress free position to be in with your Ace in the hole.

In reply to imusicthis is the format that he would excell in

It is against Afghanistan. I don't rate Kesrick, but he had a good Cpl and deserves his pick.

analyst-kid 2019-11-14 20:50:20

This is Afghanistan. If Keswick excels against India he will get my rankings as a top dog.

But right now I dont rate him above Kyle Mayers or Raymond Reifer with bat and ball in the T20 format.

voiceofreason 2019-11-14 20:54:06

In reply to analyst-kid

He is better than those two with ball. Those are batsmen who bowl a bit.

Realsteel 2019-11-15 00:38:17

Kesrick is a very good t20 bowler ...he was drop because was just going through a rough patch but good to see him find some form

Barry 2019-11-15 01:20:01

In reply to voiceofreason

Afghanistan has a higher t20 rating big grin

You serious?? Which part of Kyle Mayers more impressive than williams in T20? You probably mean 50 overs and 4 day cricket man. Will give Reifer credit, man held his nerve well in CPL this year, bat and ball in some crucial spots.

jen 2019-11-15 01:28:33

Again, I keep saying, people on her don't watch much Cricket. If you've been following Cricket, you'll know that Kesrick was always a wicket taker. I don't see what was hard to see he deserves a T20 pick. Who don't get blows now and again or go through a lil rough patch of games? Man, it happens to all cricketers. Kesrick T20 record is very good.

I wouldn't pick him for any other format though lol lol

methodic 2019-11-15 02:44:22

In reply to jen

he has some good variations, if he plays he will continue to get better. I think he can be one of our leading t20 bowlers

VIX 2019-11-15 03:36:18

Of course you don't! he isn't bajan !!
big grin

mkcharles 2019-11-15 14:37:56

In reply to VIX

I'm bajan and KW qualifies as much as any bowler in the West Indies to play T20 based on performance. I don't however see him as a 50 over bowler.

Both Raymond Reifer and Mayers can play and contribute with both bat and ball in all formats, but to compare them against KW is a silly comparison. These two should be compared against a Rutheford or Rovman Powell or a Dre Russell and even a Carlos Brathwaite if you want to use your imagination.

And the end of the day T20 is about what type of cricket team you want to put together and how you plan to play it because there is no wholesale difference amongst players who are basically at the same skill level apart from the big guns who have played more that 400+ games in this format.
