Barbados opener Zachary McCaskie is excited about the opportunity granted to him to play for Middlesex County Cricket Club. The county commenced on April 12 and ends in September.
The 24-year-old right-handed batsman said his chance was made possible thanks to former legendary West Indies opening batsman Desmond Haynes and the Barbados Cricket Association vice-president Calvin Hope.
The elated former Christ Church Foundation student who has played two seasons for Barbados explained what it meant to him.
“My performances have to be up to a particular standard for the county to be fully interested in me. So, I have to ensure I help them however I can and that is the best way for me to elevate."

Did we lose you to the USA?
This is a topic I am familiar with, not in sport, but individuals doing what best for them and family.
I wish him all the best, will cheer for him, whoever he play for.
.
I mention to you before, we have differing experiences, two buddies returned to him, telling me they can be better, after doing their doctorate, one knew me very well, and know I would be better in Calgary than in Barbados.
He said to his brother who also did his doctorate that he would not be successful, if he returned to bim, I watched him one day on television, and saw what he was talking about.
His brother returned home, was not a diplomat, between stress and alcohol. killed him.

tell them start writing then. a lot of those stories need to be written down if not for nostalgia and lessons to be learnt for the comedic relief

His father was my school mate at HC...has lived and done his business here in Barbados for over 40 years...his father wants him to play for Barbados/WI.
Also he is a batsmen...he would play for Barbados easily...as you can see in the recent Super 50 Zachary really cherishes his wicket.
