These Guyanese Pitches
In reply to mkcharles
And the ball will be spinning in Mudland!!! Ironically if GAW win all their games they can finish in the top 2!!!
In reply to WIfan26
With a spin quatro of Shakib , Tahir, Hemraj and St. Clair, the Warriors can do much damage to the other teams' batting and win their home matches. TKR with their accurate spin trio can also come into their own and qualify. Talawahs, Patriots, Kings with weaker spin combinations may struggle at Providence..
Awaiting in earnest for that leg to start.
In reply to mkcharles
You need to post more.
Need to drop some more knowledge in here.
Warriors will qualify
In reply to mkcharles
The pitches in Providence will likely be worst than the ones in Tittieland.
Oh, is PITCHES alyuh talking bout..
My old phone screen doesn't recognize letter P

Warriors half way there and knocking out TKR Saturday night.
Big up Pitch Consultant, Kent Crafton
The pitches at Providence were relayed recently.. De entire square is new.
In reply to anthonyp
Really?? Did not know that! Cool!
The square does look different.
In reply to StumpCam
batsman wicket now
In reply to anthonyp
yea sp bish seh... kudos to the grounders
In reply to ray
I dont believe its a batsman wicket. There is carry in the wicket and the keeper is not taking the balls below the waist which is the tell tale.
If you bowl quick like Alzarri or even heavy like Odean then you can express yourself.
The big difference is that the lollipop spinners no longer look like Murali and Warnie.
In reply to mkcharles
Well, Deyal looked the part for a few overs!
Different pitch.
In reply to Maispwi
The same geezer responsible for pitches touring teams complain about??
In reply to anthonyp
Isn't the head curator still Wasim Habib?
In reply to StumpCam
It would be curious to know who is responsible.
The point is that the pitches CAN obviously be better with more care and attention.
In reply to mkcharles
Yes, of course!
In reply to mkcharles
Head curator awarded Hero CPL Groundsman Award
Looks like he was still there a year ago
That is why i asked Anthony as he is a man in the know ...
In reply to Kay
he's done an even better job this time
Providence looks like it could be the ideal test wicket
In reply to doosra
Bullshit!!!Thank Crafton of the Darren Sammy stadium who told y'all how to prepare proper pitches!!!!
In reply to Larr Pullo
He was mandated by the CWI to work with the Guyana pitch rollers who somehow didnt know anything about proper pitch preparation.
In reply to Larr Pullo
well Crafton gets the win then
i heard the commies talking about lead groundman here...but clearly i missed that part
well done Crafton ...
In reply to doosra
Yes! Credit should be given where due.
In reply to Larr Pullo
well we need the info...why don't CWI have him do more work with the others...most of the pitches around are terrible
In reply to doosra
While many of the pitches are terrible, Guyana's was terribler. He was sent there after the last fiasco of a pitch that Guyana's local craftsmen produced.
In reply to doosra
Isn't same person responsible for pitches at international grounds in WI. Most of those pitches are in poor shape ask the Englishmen about the Antigua and Bim pitches. Disgraceful.
In reply to Castled
No he's definitely not responsible for Barbados and ANU.
In reply to Castled
No he's definitely not responsible for Barbados and ANU.
In reply to Kay
Yes he still is the grounds man at Providence.. After the first Warriors match Hetty was praising him, saying it's one of the best pitches he ever played on at Providence.
So St Lucia wicket is similar?
I wasn't paying attention to their pitch.
Who is Crafton and if he's a pitch expert, why is he not involved with all regional pitches?
What credit does the local GT curator get? We can't discount his efforts, he's the every day guy.
In reply to anthonyp
Thanks. So where does this Grafton fella come in?
In reply to Curtis
CWI peeps reading mb should clarify. Read somewhere he is accountable for regional pitches. Larr says he isn't. Somebody is lying.
