I don't understand Chase selection or how to justify it. If they had taken him to the T20 I might think that is economical bowling in the past got him there.
He is not a wicket taker at test llevel. He has forgotten how to bat. Probably very low on confidence. it would be interesting to see Haynes spin this.
I was not disgusted by Cariah, surprised, but he had made a good 50 and someone was dreaming about his bounce on turn on Aussie wickets.
Our batsmen will be under lots of prssure, a talented guy like Brandon King might make a difference, and is already in Australia.

I try finding a reason for Chase selection, that ton is the latest and fresh in the mind of our captain.

Beyond sickening,selectors have scraped underneath the barrel now.Devon Thomas, really ??. Hope is a way better option as a back up keeper and opener if need be.

There can't be any justifiable sane reason for selection of Roston Chase...... bizarre...what is the criteria of selection...be it batsman, bowlers or all rounder.....this inconsistencies has been the bane of Simmons coaching era...Harper & Pollard paid the price...now Dessie & Braithwaite will....

We have three selectors..
Dessie...Chief selector
Robert Haynes
Simmons
All three selectors have equal power as far as selection of players are concerned...

All unfit players,were selected for World Cup T-20 2021, immediately, thereafter, Hety was totally banished from team for being unfit...

Now, Chase....Chase career already doomed...by trying to transform batsman, who could bowl to batting all rounder...who bowls 15 to 20 overs every innings....last time Chase score a century was 3rd test against England, in 2019... Poor first class performance.... Century in local league can't be criteria for selection as alleged by Openning....it demoralise other players,.as selection of Cariah over Walsh....
Not to forget, transforming wicket-keeper batsman into off- spinning batsman...Pooran.

I'd have rather selected Motie or Permaul rather than take Chase.

King as well, instead of Brooks.

i think that the Cariah v Walsh debate is best left for after this current regional series. Hopefully Cariah gets to bowl a full quota as often as possible so that we can see which is the better bowler and then move forward based on that. I am anxious for both to do well as we need the option of a legspinner in our rebuilding effort in white ball cricket.

Then again, after the designation of the hapless Sammy as an "allrounder" that concept has become very devalued in the Caribbean.

I just had a look at King's FC average, I was looking for an average in the mid forties, again we a hoping one below average player, will replace another below average players.
