etc
In reply to Dukes

In reply to Dukes
See how yuh get updates?
out of no where Matthew Kissoon talk about Kevin Stoute

In reply to doosra
And it is not as though they know the rules of cricket.
The follow on for a 4 day match is 150 runs NOT 200 runs which it is in TEST CRICKET
Not only that,Guyana only has 2 fast bowlers in the team since Paul was replaced by Motie, yet these DUNCES are talking about follow on.
P.S He just said the fielding side can AKSE for a half-hour extension.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Bring back the female commentator who did said the batsman "hit de ball dong the grong for a bungdree"
In reply to Chrissy

I am just thankful that we can get some coverage, but the commies can at least make a little more effort to sound more professional
In reply to Dukes

In reply to Chrissy

i hope john ramsingh is reading this board
they need some basic training
In reply to doosra
Matthew Kissoon is an umpire I think... He supposed to know the rules
In reply to doosra
We did a survey here a few years back and were shocked to see how few folks knew the basic laws of the game - many didn't know field placings or even the names of prominent cricketers
In reply to anthonyp
he talks about that all the time
In reply to Chrissy
and as anthony pointed out he is a local division 1 umpire
In reply to doosra
I distinctly remember the first test WI vs India at Sabina Park in 1971.The first day was washed out and the WI ended their first innings 170 runs behind India on first Innings and Wader told Sobers he was enforcing the follow-on and the entire WI camp did not realize the becase the first day was washed out ,it was a 4 day game and the follow-on was 150 runs
In reply to doosra
Bro I shame fi dem
In reply to doosra
Need some new voices... They had Jermaine Neblett, he was better that these guys. Guess he don't make the cut anymore.
In reply to anthonyp
They need some serious training - this is embarrassing - ignorance and mediocrity on display for the entire world - - they need to use Zoom and Facetime to let some of the experts assist them.
LLoyd was run out in both innings??? What a ting!!
In reply to PalsofMine
And he was batting with Rohan both times.
Years ago a prominent coach told me he learned more about the essence of the game of cricket from a presentation by one of my brethren on the UWI campus than he had learned in his entire playing career. My brethren played high school cricket and college cricket but he was a maths brain.
In reply to anthonyp
Made me think of a conversation I had with the recently deceased Cecil Kippins.
He said that prior to the First Class Domestic Competiton,Clyde Walcott used to have a meeting with all the Umpires who would be officiating in the games in Guyana to go over all the rules and regulations governing play in the competition.
I am 1000% certain that nobody does that anymore.
Men talking about mistakes
talking about history of jamaica for the last 10 minutes
jeez man
and now Guyana
John Ramsingh, I know you are reading here
man jeez talk the damn cricket more than other things...
In reply to doosra
How much cricket is there to talk about
They could give more insight into the local cricket, differences amongst clubs and so on
In reply to Raskil

He needs to be a bit more intrusive when interviewing people holding CWI hostage.
In reply to Raskil

In reply to doosra
Meanwhile in the chat box on Youtube, the viewers arguing about Hetty!! One chap cussing up someone "mudda!"
SMH!!!
In reply to Dukes
that is somewhat shocking, player should instinctively posses those info
It would be great if any one of you
..doesnt matter who
.just one
..or more if possible
..take a turn in the commentary booth and see how you do.
Matter of fact
..this could be a CWI initiative to encourage fan engagement. Lets see how YALL do
big talkers.
Easy to flap beaks from the sidelines
In reply to imusic
When you go to a restaurant and critique the food it doesnt mean you want to become the chef.
Were an audience and theyre lucky to be able to access some feedback.
In reply to Raskil
Cop out. Very few of these guys are professionals commentators that do this exclusively for a living.
And theres a big difference between critiquing ( suggesting that they update scores more frequently) and bashing
Whats happening here is far more of the latter. It not easy to talk for 8 hours straight
If allyuh ave issues with the commentators mute your speakers nah!
In reply to imusic
I dare dem to do a commentary for 5 mins straight
In reply to imusic
Theyre very good when they stick to the core being cricket .
At this level the viewers are looking for insights and developments happening, some personal cricketer stories and so on
Bish does that very well.
He goes out seeking.
In reply to imusic
come again
In reply to imusic
they do commentary for people to listen and to promote the game...
they have been doing this for a long time
what is wrong with asking for the commentary to be better?
the next time i hear you gripe about anything here i will remind you to do better first and let's see if it will make sense
In reply to WI_cricfan
see Raskil above
your line of reasoning is isht
next time i hear you gripe about anything,
i will remind you how isht it is to be doing so

BEYOND POOR, A REFLECTION OF WEST INDIES CRICKET
In reply to imusic
IM you should know the number of runs required for a follow on in four day cricket versus five day test matches. That is basic stuff man.
In reply to Chrissy
some a the same people dem asking we to accept low standards of things in the region run weh from it long time now
In reply to doosra
Tell dem bro
I heard them saying people make mistakes - that's not a mistake - that's not knowing the rules.
In reply to imusic

Duh be an armchair athlete.
I have low expctations for West Indies Cricket/ers so I don't become disappointed with poor performances
In reply to Dukes
They should get Reds to coach them.

Why is Yardie Garfield Burford not in the box? Let me also hasten to add Fazeer Mohammed too!
In reply to Chrissy
I dont mind the Muddie commentators
..
I think were a bit harsh
.
We don't play(or broadcast) enough cricket to allow our commentators to work on their craft
In reply to FanAttick
Look the commentary has improved but there is no excuse for not knowing the rules re the four day follow on and how can you not know the results of the ODIs that finished this week.
If you were not sure, don't respond or look it up. How hard is that? Data is everywhere man.
In reply to Chrissy
What happened to Sean Devers?
I like him....he is a decent comm....even with his 83,000 square miles reminders
In reply to Narper
Ye I like Sean
In reply to Narper
Blacklisted by the Guyana cricket Board because he criticized its President.
In reply to Dukes

De same fcukeries they do with young players.
In reply to Narper

Defer to the politicians and the boards or out you go.
