Do you remember that table soccer machine that used to be in Gun Smiths Bar on Manchester Road in Mandeville back in the 1970s?
Im trying to find a machine like that but the 1970s version is different to anything I see these days
The 70s version had the players in channels going down the length of the pitch and then you would use the controls to strike the ball..there were no levers on the sides of the table

Mi know yuh a youngster but werent you at Mandeville All Age in the 70s?
Talking about Gun Smiths bar
Back in the 70s there was a lady who was about 6 feet 4 inches tall who used to be a regular patron
.her husband was about 5 feet tall like Powen
She would be at the counter with her male brethren drinking all night..her husband had to wait outside the door until she was ready to go home..he dared not enter
many times I saw him getting slapped upside the head
.I used to find it funny then but now in my old age I look back at it with some sadness for the poor victim

Do you remember Hammonds Patties just below Mandeville Bus Park? Gun Smiths Bar was next door - same side of the street..across from that was Robbies Livestock and Mr Yaps Patties(we used to call the area Little Wonder)
to this day I dont know what kind of filling was in Yaps patties(there were rumors but I wont speculate)..his daughter went to Manchester High
.
The bar owner Gun Smith was a policeman from Mandeville Police while operating the bar hence the nickname
I have a story about an encounter that I had with Mandeville Police but I will reserve the full details for my soon to be written book..the gist of it is that my brethren who used to work at Alcan was robbed of his belongings(wallet, ID and Passport) after giving a ride to some hitch hikers
He and I tracked the robbers into a dangerous community on the outskirts of Mandeville
we then went to the police to report it and when we told them where the robbers were they got scared and refused to enter the community..I in my reckless youth decided to take matters into my own hands and was able to recover the stolen property

Wasn't Hammonds Patty at the top of Ward Avenue..pass the Tudor Theatre going up the hill?
In any case regardless of where it was I would not know what inside of Gun Smith Bar look like much less to know what game dem have in deh.
That is either Georges Valley or Greenvale area... that's the only 2 places I could think of that would be considered "dangerous community" back in the day
