Real talk. The Yanks are so full of sh!#%t. Can never understand why the SB winner is referred to as World Champions in a sport that is as American as they come.
Ok here we go. He might have a point, that doesn't mean that he needed to make it public. Celebrate your win, do whatever... but not necessary for him to go where he went. He could at least wait until he sign some kinda endorsement deal to make himself unattractive to the rest of the sporting public.

yeah....the nba is actually harder that 1........................3 minutes of sprinting streched across 5 days. and nba players are extremely respectful of other sports and sportsmen. lyles is just looking for attention. its actually quite pitiful

its not the same thing....the nba is not the op sport in any country outside of the USA ......like how football is the most popular sport in almost every country, like how cricket is the most popular sport in most of the cricket playing commonwealth. Thus the idea of a basketball world cup along the lines of a football, ruby or cricket world cup is simply not plausible. Man City may not be world champs officially, but they are the best football side in the world because they've won the hardest and most prestigious tournament among club teams. Internationally, its argentina because they've won the world cup. Basketball does not have that sort of standard globally.....argentina, spain, possibly serbia and the states, and no other team will win if the usa sends their best squad as the olympics has shown since they allowed professional players in 1992

As it is T&F is struggling for air time in the USA and far behind the nba, nfl and possibly even football in terms of market share. the whole doping years of the 90s(from carl to gatlin) did a lot to contribute to its diminished status

The USA has lost the world cup of basketball with their best players in the past. Same with baseball, which advertises the club title as the World series.
Some info for you
There are other 'club' leagues. The Europeans once ran their mouth at their club footie in the past only for Pele and Santos to occasionally put them back in their box.
Face it, Americans take the "We are the world" approach.
It's not a true world club competition, despite it being the best one. That is all.
