The proposed initiative entails the creation of a dedicated division within the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) which undergoes thorough screening processes to effectively address cases of corruption within the police workforce.

PM Rowley observes that criminal elements are ubiquitous throughout various sectors, including the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), Customs, Parliament, the corporate sector, the court, and the media. Hence, the responsibility of addressing the problematic issues lies with the entire nation, rather than being completely dependent on the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS).

If PM Rowley possesses evidence of individuals within the TTPS who partake in misconduct, it prompts inquiry into the reasons behind the National Security Minister, Fitzgerald Hinds, and Commissioner of Police, Erla Harewood-Christopher, failing to undertake the requisite measures to identify and commence legal actions against said individuals. The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) presently maintains both a Police Complaints Authority and a Police Complaints Tribunal.Will the incorporation of a thoroughly evaluated group result in any noticeable effect?Presently, a circumstance prevails in which over 200 police personnel have been formally accused and subsequently placed on suspension from their official duties, all the while continuing to get their complete remuneration and entitlements. It is crucial to prioritize the resolution of this issue.

To regain public trust and confidence, it is crucial for the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) to prioritize the establishment of a perception among the general public that all officers, regardless of their rank or position, including PM Rowley, possess unwavering integrity and can be relied upon to uphold ethical principles even in the absence of external oversight.

Without a question, financial incentives play a significant role in serving as a source of motivation. Nevertheless, Rowley could have strengthened the correlation between his financial responsibilities and overall greater performance by avoiding the act of singling out a unit that has not yet been constituted and giving it preferential treatment in his communication.
