The 94 metre, high-speed catamaran ferry can carry up to 926 passengers, including crew, and up to 250 cars, and can travel up to 37.5 knots. The ship also features Austals MarineLink Smart technology.
Financing for the vessel was done via Australias Export Finance and Insurance Corporation (EFIC).
The Buccoo Reef is one of two new vessels ordered by the Government for the inter-island seabridge.
Another high speed catamaran has been ordered from Australian shipbuilder Austal and is also slated for delivery this year.
The Austal ferry cost US$73.5 million while the Incat vessel cost US$72.9 million.
