The MV Ma Lisha is worth some $2.5 billion USD 12.7 million and was constructed in India after a contract was signed between the Trans-port and Harbours Department (T&HD), Guyana, and Indian company, Gar-den Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited (GRSE) back in January 2021.

The APT James was built by Australian company Austal at a cost of around US$73 million.
The 94 metre, high-speed catamaran ferry can carry up to 926 passengers, including crew, and up to 250 cars, and can travel up to 37.5 knots. The ship also features Austal’s MarineLink Smart technology.

They have AC but some how ferry staff over using it and it keeps breaking down.

Guyana ferry was built to carry containers and cargo, vehicles and trucks as well as passengers.
Trini ferry cannot carry cargo. It's only made for passengers.

The current position of A.P.T. JAMES is at Caribbean Sea reported 23 mins ago by AIS. The vessel is en route to TT SCA <> TT POS, sailing at a speed of 29.1 knots and expected to arrive there on Sep 4, 23:30. The vessel A.P.T. JAMES (IMO: 9877717, MMSI 362254000) is a Passenger/Ro-Ro Cargo Ship built in 2020 (3 years old) and currently sailing under the flag of Trinidad & Tobago.

The 94- by 26-metre A.P.T. James was designed by Austal Australia to be used to transport both vehicles and passengers at high speeds between the islands of Trinidad and Tobago via a government-licenced “sea bridge” route. The ferry is of all-aluminium construction and has capacity for 926 passengers and up to 250 cars, though the onboard cargo decks may allow the carriage of a total of only 222 cars to free up a combined 90 lane metres for other freight.

The idiots in T&T are clueless about maintenance. Over half of their Coast Guard Vessels are not working also.
Some recent bought from Australia are parked at Staubles bay ...one ran aground..
