Only now can Guyana check for HBAIC????

As part of an initiative to enhance diabetes care and reduce the mortality rate in Guyana, the Ministry of Health has partnered with Mount Sinai Health System to distribute machines that will reveal blood sugar levels over months and new treatment guidelines have also been introduced.

Initially, one machine has been assigned to each region and training will be undertaken.

A blood test can give one the results of AIC..in half an hour in hospitals where I live
That's great news for diabetics in Guyana.

NONSENSE.

In 2019 when I ran a symposium in Guyana,I enquired as to the cost of the hemoglobin A 1 C test and was told it cost $8,000 Guyana dollars so it was too expensive for many of the patients.
What they are probably talking about is making the test available to indigent patients for free.
I did not read the attached article so forgive me if I am off base.
