Two elderly people beaten in home invasions
Two elderly people were beaten after bandits invaded their home in separate incidents on Thursday night.
In the first incident, around 7.30 pm a 73 year old woman was in the gallery of her home at Fort George Branch Road, Indian Walk, Moruga, when three cutlass wielding bandits accosted her. Fearful for her life, she struggled with them and suffered wounds to her hands. They robbed her of $1000 and her cellphone before running off. She was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital for treatment.
Less than an hour later, around 8.10 pm a 77 year old man and his 42 year old daughter were watching television in the living room of their Caratal Road, Gasparillo home when he saw two assailants on his porch. One of them had a gun. They smashed the glass pane of his front door. The father and daughter ran into their bedrooms and locked the door.
The bandits broke down the fathers bedroom door and struck him several times with the gun butt. They also ransacked his bedroom but stole nothing. The suspects then escaped in a white car.
Mother, daughter kidnapped from Maraval home
The peace and quiet of Andalusia Drive, Maraval, was shattered this morning when a woman and her daughter were snatched from their home.
Police said Petrina Hernandez, 45 and her 19-year-old daughter Amelia Roberts were at their home at around 4 am when several men stormed the house and ransacked the home.
Both women were bundled out of the home.
Three vehicles, a black Nissan Cefiro, a brown Hyundai Tucson and a silver Toyota Yaris were also stolen from the house where they were parked.

Sad how both Ja and T&T have got so violent. (Here are Ja's figures for serious crimes up to near end of August; total murders: 899!)
In h.s., I was a cadet, and being a country boy, used to get around Kingston purely by using a map those days, up until my earliest working days in said Kingston. I was sent to Chagaramus for the summer of 1968 (I passed my 17th b.d. there) and used the same map method to get around POS by myself. Didn't feel unsafe at all back then.
Truly disappointing.

The murder count as of 10 minutes ago is 406. ERLA, YOU SAID THE MURDER RATE WENT DOWN. LIKE YOU LOOKING THROUGH ROWLEY'S TUNNEL VISION?Under Rowley, Hinds and Erla, you might be safer outside your home. Better believe it

Mother, daughter kidnapped from Maraval home
Just before 7 p.m. last night, Hernandez and Roberts were released near a walkover on the Lady Young Road, Morvant.
"Another resident said the situation had left him and his family deeply traumatised, adding they were too afraid to leave home." An unidentified man who was standing outside and speaking on his cellphone told the Express: I think you should leave that alone, when he was asked about the missing mother and daughter.
He then walked inside the house.

The last paragraph of that article - I LUV IT!
OK, I see why you're so giddy-headed:
Bukele responded that United States' support against Salvadoran gangs had come under the Chump administration, citing the withdrawal of American aid from the National Civil Police and Institute for Access to Public Information four months into the Biden administration, and saying that the United States now only supported the civil liberties of gangs.
Remember two things, Missa Balls:
(i) It's an ill wind that blows nobody any good.
(ii) Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
On the national scene, there's been only been one Republican* I supported since emigrating from Ja donkey years ago, and that's Lowell Weicker, who passed on some 6 weeks ago at age 92. *[I had to say 'Republican' rather than "Repugnican/Repugnant/Republican't" because of how much I respected Gov. Lowie. Yes, he became a state gov after his senate years.] May the soul of this 6'6" giant of a man RIP.
