JJ 52 out of WI U19 127/10
He was the last man out so obviously he could have done even better if he had better support

Jordan Johnson in the runs again
In reply to FanAttick
The Opening pair had a partnership of 57 runs, then the team all out for 127, with JJ scoring 52 out of 70.
I really hope that JA will consider calling him up for the next regional series. Lara, Chanders, Hooper all played for their country in their teens, as did Worrell, Walcott, Sobers etc
In reply to FanAttick
Yep, doing really well, while the rest of the U19 losing ground.
In reply to FanAttick
So that means: 1) he can play spin and
2) he understands his game.
I wish him well and hope it's another one coming thru

Samuels played Test as a teenager!
In reply to PalsofMine
Kalli too, did Charlie Davis or his brother debut in teens too; Branker or Lashley?
He is not in the pecking order as yet. Others are ahead of him with less talent so JA will stifle him till he gets frustrated and fall by the wayside. SMH.
Please go very big again. His Hunger for runs reminds me of Jeffrey Dujon's as a youth player who hungered for big runs.

Jordan Johnson 79* out of 155/2
Bat on son
Teenaged test cricketers from the West Indies include the 2 youngest Derek Sealey and Garry Sobers who were 17.
Others such as Sarwan, Samuels and Chanderpaul of recent vintage.
Elquemedo Willett is another one who is not mentioned.

Air Jordan time now! Blackwood and Bonner need to make way!
WI 127 Jordan Johnson 52 off 49 balls
SL 326 Sealey 4-82,Thorne 2-64,
WI 199-4 Jordan Johnson 100* off 90 balls
It's wonderful to see the youth make another hundred. But he needs a very big hundred to pull us out of the hole we are in. Concentrate Johnson like a batsman well beyond your age.
In reply to Dukes
Werent Xavier Marshall and Jerome Taylor teenagers as well??
In reply to StumpCam
Correct!!!

121* to JJ
D Murry, the TT keeper played as a teenager also.

These kind of performance is what make me a fan of young players, Fan I am not waiting, select him for the A team, have people around him.
This youngster has the It factor.
Congrats young man.

Almost
Born May 20,1943 made debut June 6,1963
So in the olden days, there was the abiility to spot real talent and blood them while they were young and the majority of those names had real talent and most of them made it to the very top. Why not JJ? Especially if he wants to play red ball cricket at highest level. The competition for places in the West Indies side is not very great with most of the middle order averaging only in the 20s
In reply to PalsofMine
this guy should be played in very game next season, regardless of early result, special talent must be harness and push early because we do not have many

If he is selected next season, name the International performing players on Jamaica team, that can bring their experience to assist him?
A number of Barbados players got selected after the U19 level, Kraigg, Jason, Shai, Brooks , how are their doing at the International level?
Most of our young players don't have structures in place to assist them, that's one of our major problem.
I don't know what the fuss is all about...Jamaica in the regionals is a weak batting team (esp against spin like Barbados)so I expect Johnson to start.
Moreover his ascension will motivate his U19 peers who might still be developing.

I see some peeps calling for Jordan to play lickit ..please keep him away from lickit by any means necessary
Also while youre at it please ask the JJ waggonists to take a hike
Did Holding play as a teenager?
In reply to camos
No. Mickey He was 21 on Test debut.
This youth JJ has been doing well ..Hope he keeps progressing.Haven't seen him bat biut his
returns are wonderful. He should be in the JA 4-day team for next season. Should also be
be in the 50 over squad too.
I notices his scoring rate is terrific going by scorecard. He could also make the 'A' squad
to South Africa if the selectors are bold enough. Pick him while he is hot to get the
exposure and feel for bigger cricket.
In reply to hubert
Must be on the plane to SA with the A team and in one of the Franchises soon
and a developmental contract next round, if not already on
So proud of young Johnson. Keep hanging for your runs and work harder daily to become a better cricketer.

Didnt you hear me say that Jordan is our best leftie since Sobers and Shiv?
In reply to FanAttick
We might want to check on that boy's age-paper.
In reply to Drapsey
I agree. I believe he might be even younger than we are being led to believe
wouldnt be surprised if hes 15
In reply to doosra
The selectors probably have long picked the squad already.
It's Waste indies you know... so don't be optimistic on this.
Check his scores from the SL tour, 18, 105, 14, 149, 52, 157*
