when TKR beat allyuh....the government might have to declare a national holiday yes. The kinda negative energy allyuh put into this tournament against TKR(the embodiment of all the evil) only to come second or third. When bravo lift the trophy, i would strongly advise him to celebrate in the hotel cause that crowd will be volatile
Guyana leg eh?
Hopefully de wagon de turn into a water cart
In reply to imusic
Bhai...in Mudland we have dankey cart
In reply to Narper
TKR are already qualifier 1. Theyll play the winner of the eliminator the day before
In reply to imusic
We have to play Guyana on Saturday first. Should be a good game although Trinidad traditionally doesnt do well on the glue patch. Theyll have to bat really well to win. I think TT has only one twice there
.but we have lost at Providence and come back and won the tournament.
In reply to imusic
TKR topping the points table but they played more matches
GAW played 6 matches and has 11 points
TKR played 9 matches and has 13 points
GAW has 4 matches while TKR has 1 match
GAW has a very healthy NRR...
Who will top the table?
Points table

Ow man...WD is mih fren...I go vouch for his good behavior on de wagon
He only noisy when he sober....jus give im some daroo and he is good
In reply to Narper
Guyana having 4 matches is both a good and bad thing. Four matches is a lot. Patriots were rubbish this year so they will lose to Warriors. They have a TKR match and its at providence so they also go in as favorites. Talawahs really beat them last year at home so I think this game is actually the least predictable. The royals game wouldnt be as close as the game at Brian Lara Academy because the Providence wicket takes more turn than BL Academy ground, at least this year. Kings could present a challenge as well, although they have not been the same since faf left
In reply to Jumpstart
You throwing in the towel already?
I left home without a dog in the fight.
CPL Barbados Pride fans nothing to me, it is a week of cricket played in the Island, with little benefit to the Grassroots or the BCA.
In reply to openning
Not throwing in the towel. I said GAW start off as favorites because weve only won at providence twice. Its a fact
In reply to Jumpstart
Even with your power house of Pooran, Pollard, Russell, BigB, Narine and Hosein?
I had two trini girlfriends, the first one said I seem to be intimidated by her, because I would not take her out, the next one was too wild, she was a fire cracker. still good friends.
I know you Trinies.
In reply to openning
We could. But the record shows we dont.
In reply to Jumpstart
This T20 format is about luck than total performance, I am from the Sir Everton Weekes school of batting, which say, you can only get caught if you hit the ball in air, there are too many aerial balls for my liking, and so much risk batting.
In reply to Narper
Narps, pls post the audio link like U did on the other wagon.
In reply to Jumpstart
The only negative energy carrier is your cappo. You hear anyone talking crap about any other player? When Pooran or Russell perform well, they get praises....
wheel and come again.

You messing with trouble ..Googley is a pundit , he can do a puja on you...
and you could end up like barry...
We are going to bowl first. There will be dew later on that, purely because of that. For me it's my second home, feel special in front of this crowd. We got one change, Nandu comes in for Sinclair. We can settle him as an opening batter. We have been up and down. We want to see which batter can bat in that opening spot
We'll try to replicate what we did last time. I wasn't aware that we have lost five in a row. We have been winning position in few of those games. It's a happy hunting ground for me. It's a great environment in the team. We have quite a few changes in the team, don't remember all of them.
In reply to Narper
Gurbaz nah reach yet?
In reply to hubert
Enjoy the match Hubie
6:32pm It's time for the toss. Tahir gives it a flick. King calls heads it but it comes down as tails. The Guyana Amazon Warriors will bowl first. Tahir says they were happy to do anything but with dew possibly being a factor, he wanted to bowl first. Adds that the opening combination has been a bit up and down, and that they are trying to improve one. A solitary change for them - Nandu comes in for Sinclair. King, unaware that the Tallawahs have never lost five in a row, reckons they have been losing crucial moments in the matches they have lost and says it is about winning those moments. Quite a few changes for the Tallawahs, with one of them forced as Mohammad Amir misses this game due to illness.
The Warriors are the only team to still be unbeaten this season, having won five of their six games (the other was a washout). They are also the only team to have played six matches, which means they can accumulate many points in the fixtures that remain, especially on their home patch.
So far, their batting has worked a charm, with almost everyone contributing. In their most recent encounter, Saim Ayub starred with a half-century. Shai Hope has been consistent too, while the likes of Keemo Paul, Odean Smith, Romario Shepherd and Shimron Hetmyer add plenty of muscle to the lower middle order. Azam Khan has endured a bit of a lean run, although he remains one of the cleanest ball-strikers in the CPL and capable of turning things around in a trice.
As for the Tallawahs, their season began superbly and they registered two wins very early. Since then, though, they have not tasted victory and are currently on a four-match losing streak. With the Barbados Royals also huffing and puffing, the Tallawahs are very much in contention and are just two points behind the Royals, despite having played two lesser games.
So, a win tonight will take them level. For that to happen, however, they need their batters to fire in unison. Against the Trinbago Knight Riders in their last fixture, they stuttered and stumbled to a middling total - a total that was ultimately hunted down with ease. The Tallawahs are not short of firepower but they need to break out of the rut that has engulfed them over the past fortnight if they are to sneak into the playoffs.
The brief for the Warriors is a lot more straightforward (and perhaps boring). One win (out of four matches) will ensure a top-two berth and a date with the Trinbago Knight Riders in Qualifier 1. That will also give them two shots at reaching the final, were they to lose to the Knight Riders. With a passionate home crowd geeing them up, they would hope to secure that top-two finish at the first time of asking tonight.
6pm It's Wonderful Wednesday and it is my pleasure to welcome you all to ESPNcricinfo's live ball-by-ball coverage of the CPL. Tonight, the caravan finally moves to the Providence Stadium in Guyana, with the hosts Guyana Amazon Warriors taking on the Jamaica Tallawahs.

Chris Green, Jamaica Tallawahs all-rounder: It is familiar territory for us. We have things in our own control, if we win our remaining games, we will qualify. We have not played at our best yet but if we can win those games, we can become a dangerous side. I love playing here at the Providence Stadium and looking forward to experience the atmosphere. I know my role with the ball is pretty flexible and I enjoy that challenge. With that challenge, comes the opportunity to be successful. Just about executing, keeping the ball as dry as possible and with the bat, trying to score as many as possible.
Let's see what the conditions have in store for us. The ground is slightly bigger than the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, with the square boundaries being 71m and 69m. The straight hit is 78m. Ian Bishop says the pitch looks dry and there are cracks, although the wicket looks hard. An interesting looking pitch, according to him and he hopes there are runs in store.

spoiled a good start...Brandon needed to stay and bat
So the Warriors captain shook hands with all his players excepting for Odean.
That didn't look good.
In reply to Drapsey
Do you guys look out for these things...how come I never see these things?
Maybe its my TV station cutting for commercials
The wicket was quite good in the beginning. They had a great start, I think we did a great job to keep them down to that total. I think we can chase that, our guys are in good form. It's really nice to play here. I trust our guys, our batters have been brilliant in the tournament.
8:30pm The Tallawahs have huffed and puffed their way to 152, which is well short of what the average first-innings score in night games at this venue was last season, but does give them something to play with. King sizzled at the top of the order with a 32-ball 52 but there was not much support from those around him. In fact, it was only after Allen and Reifer joined hands that the Tallawahs were able to generate any sort of momentum.
Credit must also be given to how the Warriors bowled. After an indifferent powerplay, their spinners, led by captain Tahir, pulled things back. Motie was also superb and accounted for King to further dent the Tallawahs. Towards the end, they conceded a few boundaries that it was largely an accomplished bowling display.
Spurred on by a raucous crowd, they will be confident of hunting this total down. The Tallawahs, though, have three good spinners in their ranks, meaning that this run-chase should be interesting. Join us in a bit!
Dwaine Pretorius: (On the conditions) Thought the wicket was quite good, came onto the bat nicely. We pulled it back really well and we did a good job to keep them to that total. (On the crowd support) This is much louder (than Tarouba), cannot really hear you (smiles). Hopefully we can chase this score down. I trust our guys, they have been doing a good job (this season).

No prizes for guessing which team is on top at the half-way stage of this run-chase. The Warriors need less than seven runs per over, and they have plenty of cavalry waiting in the shed. The only way the Tallawahs can get back in this game is if they pick up a bunch of wickets very soon....

Guyana Amazon Warriors won by 7 wkts
Still the only unbeaten side this year. The chase was set up by the openers as they made it easy for the others. Saim Ayub with his third fifty in a row and he played shots all around the wicket to continue his good run. His partner Nandu played second-fiddle well and the Jamaican bowling unit looked short of ideas.
In reply to googley
10:15pm A fairly comfortable win for the Warriors, fuelled by Ayub getting his third successive fifty in the CPL. The left-hander, now also the leading run-scorer this season, bossed the middle overs, hitting the Tallawahs bowlers to all parts. Nandu, on debut, also played his role, rotating strike nicely and putting together a 100-run opening stand - the first this campaign for the Warriors. That effectively broke the back of the run-chase and while the Tallawahs got a few wickets towards the end, it always seemed a case of too little, too late.
It was a familiar story for the Tallawahs. They stuttered and stumbled with the bat, only getting up to a middling total. Their bowlers then lacked incision and allowed the Warriors to run away with the game. The Tallawahs have now lost five games on the spin (the first time in their history), and will need to pick themselves back up soon if they are to sneak into the playoffs.
In reply to sgtdjones
Tell big dawg to sing...all the piranna will die and float on top of the water!

In reply to sgtdjones
The Tallawahs will make it to the finals. Mark my word.

Saim Ayub, Player of the Match: It was a match-winning innings and I try that whenever I score runs, we win the match. (On the pitch) It is a bit difficult. When you go into bat, you have to choose your bowlers. You have to assess the pitch. (On Nandu) He is a talented youngster and has a lot of shots. He played a fabulous innings, remained calm and that is the big thing. (On what lies ahead) If we win the final, that will be the big thing.
It's a match-winning knock, I try whenever I score it should be in favor of the team. You have to choose bowlers and assess the pitch and play with the conditions. You can't hit every ball. [on Nandu] He is a talented youngster and played a fabulous innings on debut. The goal is to win the final.
Imran Tahir, Guyana Amazon Warriors captain: (On the bowling performance) They had a good start but we have a unit which can always come back. I believe that and they have done it in the previous games. 180-200 would have been difficult on this pitch. All the boys put their hands up, Motie bowled well, Paul bowled really well. (On the opening partnership) It was great to see. I have been playing franchise cricket for a long time and local players are valuable for any team. Really happy for Nandu. Saim has been fantastic for us. (On any possible improvements) We want to improve. I would like to see how we bowl if we bowl second because dew is a factor here and I would want to see how we fare with the wet ball. Looking forward to it. (On the crowd support) They have been fantastic. I come here every year and I have not seen an empty seat. Thank you to everyone (who came out).
Brandon King, Jamaica Tallawahs captain: (On his injury) I tweaked my groin a little bit when batting. Over the next few days, I will get some treatment and we will see. In the last eight overs of the innings, we faltered. The pitch was not very easy to bat on. 170-180 would have been challenging. We did not start well with the ball either. (On not being able to carry on after a good start) I want to bat deep, it is better for the team as well. Disappointed not to do that. (On losing five in a row) Analysing the game. We have not had a complete game with the bat yet. We know what the problems are and if we can correct that, we will have a greater chance of winning.
I tweaked my groin while batting and hopefully I will be fit for the next game. We started pretty well, the pitch was not easy to bat on, we got 100 in 11 overs. Had we got 170-180 would have been nice. I wanted to carry deep, I'm very disappointed with that. Analysing the game, we still haven't had a complete game with the bat.
They had a good start, coming back from there. We always can come back and we believe that. We were thinking that they will be getting 180-200 which was difficult as it was keeping low. Keemo and Motie bowled well. I have been playing franchise cricket around the world, the local players are the thing. Saim has been fantastic for us. We want to improve all the time. I would like to bowl 2nd here at some stage. We are looking forward to that. Thank you GAW family - I come here every year and I have not seen one seat empty.

So watch out
Having said that, I would love a team, any team, to have an Unvincibles season
In reply to Halliwell
that's true. but gaw bats very deep. honestly the only team that can beat warriors is TKR and even then we need to have a really good game. first thing is we need a replacement for tucker. his contributions to every game save one were really significant annd i don't see any other accumulators in the side. walton looks finished and he wasn't an accumulator anyways

OK Kings ..lets get em
I will be back in an hour..to cheer them on Narps
Googley is busy doing pujas...
We were always going to look to bowl first. Two changes. When weve batted first its when we lost the toss but we back ourselves to perform regardless. Thought spin in the middle played a big factor last time, we spoke about how winning the middle-phase plays a big part here in the Caribbean.
Were going to bat first. Only reason is to see how we can bowl with the wet ball, know there will be dew later on. Just want to challenge ourselves. Same team. Were in a situation where we can experiment, going forward if we need to bowl second we want to be able to do that.

8:47pm Wow, what a finish. 72 runs came off the final five overs and that has propelled the Warriors to 167 - a score they will feel they can defend. That said, they might not be very happy with how the first 15 overs panned out. Ayub struggled (for a change), as did Hope. They also left their onslaught late, despite the firepower at their disposal, amplified by Shepherd just facing four balls and Smith not batting at all.
The Kings, meanwhile, would be ruing a missed opportunity. Having kept the Warriors to 95 in 15 overs, they could have easily restricted them to a sub-150 total. Now, they have a bit more work to do with the bat, although with the resources at their disposal, they will be hopeful of getting the job done.
With both teams feeling they are in with a shout, this game is on a knife-edge (sorry for stating the obvious). That means a cracking second innings awaits, which will bring to you very shortly!
Matthew Forde: For me, Guyana is an up-and-down wicket and I was trying to keep it as simple as possible. (On the wicket of Hope) The captain called upon me for a breakthrough and luckily it went to plan. (On what he did during his time away from the game) That was the hardest time of my life. But it was also the hardest I ever worked in the gym. It is about staying fit and being out on the park. (On the score) I think Guyana picked up a bit of momentum towards the end but I am backing my guys to get it done. It is a little tricky (the pitch). Getting set is the key. Runs came easier at the back end.

10:24pm The Kings did it at a canter really, and much of that was down to Rajapaksa, who returned to the eleven and played an astounding innings. When he was at the crease, the ball flew to all parts and he took the game on, eventually finishing with a 49-ball 86. Munro appeared a lot scratchier throughout his essay but clung on, stitching together a vital 132-run partnership with Rajapaksa - a stand that took the game beyond the Warriors.
Speaking of the Warriors, they took the bold decision of batting first, knowing that conditions to bat will be tougher and that bowling will get harder later in the evening. That can certainly not be faulted, considering they have already secured a top-two finish. What they will be disappointed with is how they fielded. Pretorius dropped the most high-profile chance (when Rajapaksa was on 3, while there were several other bits of sloppy fielding too. The good thing is that the Warriors, because of how this season has otherwise gone, can brush this aside as an anomaly and come back refreshed on Saturday.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa, unsurprisingly, is the Player of the Match for his 49-ball 86. Here is what he has to say: (His reaction to Sri Lanka's win over Pakistan) We made a match out of nowhere, always good to give spectators their money's worth. Really happy we qualified (for the final). (Preparation for this game) Before the match, we spoke about playing a knock to remember and just go at it. (On the vibe in the camp) It has always been nice. The team has been quite united. We knew we needed two points out of the two games and happy that we got it before the last game. (On Kings' last match clashing with the Asia Cup final) The timings are different but hopefully I can keep up (with the scores in the Asia Cup final).
The Kings, by the way, have also now qualified for the playoffs, meaning that the Barbados Royals and the Jamaica Tallawahs have to fight for the one spot that remains. The Royals are two points ahead but have played a game more than the Tallawahs. So, this could go down to the wire.
First praise the lord for glory and favor. It's always nice when Sri Lanka wins, here we made a match out of nowhere, quite happy we qualified for the second consecutive time. Sammy before the match said go and give me a match to remember. It has always been nice, we knew we needed the two points and happy that we got it before our last game. The timings are different, hope I can catch up but more important is us winning here
10:41pm Right. That will be that from us for tonight. The CPL takes a day's break tomorrow but will return on Saturday, packed with action as the Jamaica Tallawahs take on the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the morning fixture. Do join us for that too but until next time, this is goodbye from me (Shashwat) and Binoy George. Take care!
Sikandar Raza, St Lucia Kings captain: (On making the playoffs) Feeling a little relieved. Don't want to be in a situation where your last match is do-or-die. Always thought if we could contain our extras, we would have a better chance. (On Joseph) He is just bringing heat after heat. No substitute for pace. He adjusted his lengths really well. Couple of bad balls don't define your spell. We always ask him to bowl the critical overs of the game. He has been brilliant with the new ball but today we trusted him with the old ball. Wicket of Hope was crucial. We have been trying to get him (Rajapaksa) in but it has been difficult because of all the others that were playing well. Today, we had him (in the eleven) and it was a beautiful innings to watch. (On if bowling first is a no-brainer) Even when we were bowling, the last eight overs were tough. The dew was playing a huge factor. But if I was in the position of Guyana, having qualified in the top two, I would have batted first too because I would have wanted my batters and bowlers to know what they would be up against possibly (in the playoffs).
Imran Tahir, Guyana Amazon Warriors captain: (What went wrong) We wanted to be in a situation like that, to bat first and bowl when dew is around. Nothing to be worried about. I always feel we need to improve and that is how we should play every sport. I think we did not bowl well according to our plans. Very happy. We achieved what we wanted to achieve. Wanted to do something different. (On the batting) The pitch, even yesterday, played a bit up-and-down. It was the same today. Earlier, it was drier so the spinners were getting help. That is the challenge we have to face as a batter and a bowler. That is something we wanted to do our homework on and glad that it is out of the way. We now need to come up with a better plan. He (Ayub) has a bit of a groin issue but he should be fine. He needed a little bit of rest.
Jamaica Tallawahs vs St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, 27th Match
Date & Time: Sep 16, 10:00 AM LOCAL
Jamaica Tallawahs have won the toss and have opted to bat
Brandon King(c), Alex Hales, Kirk McKenzie, Imad Wasim, Shamarh Brooks(w), Raymon Reifer, Fabian Allen, Chris Green, Shamar Springer, Mohammad Amir, Nicholson Gordon
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (Playing XI):
Evin Lewis(c), Andre Fletcher(w), Will Smeed, Sherfane Rutherford, Corbin Bosch, George Linde, Benny Howell, Yannic Cariah, Oshane Thomas, Sheldon Cottrell, Ashmead Nedd
We wanted to bowl first to be honest. We have two changes, Sheldon and Cariah are back, we want to finish the season on a high.
Brandon King:
We are going to bat first. Try to post a good score and defend it. Amir comes in for Salman. We should not lose wickets while batting. We back ourselves.
It's pitch number 5, the wind will assist the ball to travel to the smaller side boundary. There was some moisture in the pitch, but that moisture has evaporated because of the sun. There will be vairable bounce on this wicket, it will be a little tricky to bat on. Will become slower as the game progresses.
Brandon King is on strike.

It was a decent wicket to be honest. A couple of missed opportunities for us, should have restricted them to 140-150. I surprised I took the catch, really didn't see it. It sums up our tournament, lacking discipline in the end. Hopefully we chase it down. A couple of batters are due, hopefully they click and we finish on a good note.

Shamar Springer | Player of the Match:
I knew I wasn't going to start the tournament but kept myself ready. I always kept mentally strong and the hard work has paid off. When I went in to bat, my mindset wasn't to slow down the tempo, but to get set. It's a low scoring ground. I am ready for tomorrow's game. I'll take a massage, get into the pool (to recover).
So after the curry derby tonight battles a plenty tomorrow final day of regular play. Royals looking for a few favours from GAW. JT need the Kings to take a day off.
Looking forward to the next year, couldn't come out on top in this one. We had a good start in the first 10, but the last 10 overs were pretty tough for our bowlers. With extra pace, I backed Oshane (Thomas.) It was a fantastic innings, we gave him (Cariah) a promotion after losing two early wickets. Anyway, it's done and dusted, nothing much can be done about it.
The bowling has been good in general, but today it was outstanding. They (Reifer and Allen) are two very positive guys for us. That's been their role, they have been finishing well. He (Springer) has been incredible, he is a good person, also shows the hard work he puts in his practice. We will try and win tomorrow's game, not leaving anything on other results. Our destiny is in our hands.
Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Trinbago Knight Riders, 28th Match

Guyana Amazon Warriors have won the toss and have opted to field
Saim Ayub, Shai Hope, Azam Khan(w), Shimron Hetmyer, Dwaine Pretorius, Keemo Paul, Romario Shepherd, Odean Smith, Gudakesh Motie, Junior Sinclair, Imran Tahir(c)
Martin Guptill, Mark Deyal, Chadwick Walton(w), Kieron Pollard(c), Samit Patel, Akeal Hosein, Jayden Seales, Keacy Carty, Kadeem Alleyne, Jaden Carmichael, Terrance Hinds
Imran Tahir:
We gonna look to bowl first and try and build that going forward, if we win the toss and what we need to do. Toss in not in your control and we have a choice, so we decided to bowl first today. It will be good practice for us. The guys know their job and they are taking their responsibilities. Junior Sinclair comes in for Matthew Nandu.
Dont have a choice. We have an opportunity and lets see what happens. Hope we bat well. We have a few changes. For us, it is about giving opportunity. We are in the business end of the tournament and we will give our best.

Martin Guptill: (Key to longevity) Stay fit and healthy. (On what is different in the CPL this year) Different team, different year. The franchise has been really welcoming. Have loved my time here and hopefully we can go further. (On Pooran) I always thought he was a gun, since 2014. He has developed into a world-class player and really good to see, really good for West Indies cricket.
Let's see what the conditions have in store for us. The square boundaries are 69m and 71m, respectively. Danny Morrison reckons the pitch is quite dry and has a mosaic look to it, while being patchy. He adds it could be two-paced at the start, although it could get slicker as the game progresses if dew makes an appearance.
Trinbago Knight Riders XI: Martin Guptill, Mark Deyal, Chadwick Walton, Keacy Carty, Kieron Pollard (c), Samit Patel, Akeal Hosein, Jayden Seales, Kadeem Alleyne, Jaden Carmichael, Terrence Hinds
Guyana Amazon Warriors XI: Saim Ayub, Shai Hope, Azam Khan (wk), Shimron Hetmyer, Odean Smith, Romario Shepherd, Keemo Paul, Dwaine Pretorius, Gudakesh Motie, Junior Sinclair, Imran Tahir (c)
6:32pm It's time for the toss. Tahir and Pollard are out for the toss. Tails is the call from Pollard but it comes down as heads. Guyana Amazon Warriors will bowl first. He says that this is what they want to build upon moving forward, adding that they learnt a lot the other day by bowling second but today they wanted to field first. One change for the Warriors - Sinclair comes back in for Nandu. Pollard says they have to bat well, now that they have lost the toss. Pollard mentions there are plenty of changes for the Knight Riders.
6pm How's it going, everyone? It's Match 28 in the CPL and we are back at the Providence Stadium in Guyana where the Guyana Amazon Warriors will take on the Trinbago Knight Riders under lights.
Both of these teams have qualified (and are assured a top-two berth), meaning that there is not a lot riding on it (from a tangible perspective, at least). But with these sides set to clash when the stakes are a lot higher in a few days' time, neither would want to hand the other momentum and this match, thus, is one neither would really want to lose.
On Thursday, with a spot in the playoffs sewn up, the Warriors decided to bat first, trying to make their batters and bowlers perform the tougher gig (batting on a sticky surface and then bowling with dew around). Post that fixture, captain Imran Tahir said that they had accomplished what they had set out to achieve. Hence, it would be interesting to see what they do if they were to win the toss tonight.
As for the Knight Riders, their extraordinary batting firepower has made them an efficient chasing side, having won three out of the four games in which they have batted second. The last time they faced the Warriors, though, they fumbled batting first. Setting a total could be a possibility in Qualifier 1, and that could tempt them to bat first and gain some confidence on that front.
That means there is plenty to look forward to from a tactical standpoint. Plus, there are bragging rights at stake and the small matter of both teams wanting to gain a psychological edge over the other before the playoffs.

Danny Morrison assesses the surface. States that it is pitch number 5. Mentions that it is a bit drier and its a bit patchy. Reckons that there would be some dew around and if you get more than 170, you are in the game.

Tahir to Keacy Carty, out Stumped!! Keacy Carty comes down the track and Tahir slows this one down and pulls his length back a bit. Keacy Carty swings at it but is early through the shot. The ball spins past the outside edge and Azam Khan behind the stumps does the rest. Another animated celebration from Tahir.

8:44pm The Knight Riders lost a bit of momentum towards the end, scoring just 43 off the final five overs but have still managed to get up to 176, largely down to Carty's heroics. Playing just his third T20, he blasted 83 off 49, giving the Knight Riders the requisite momentum through the middle overs. Deyal also did his bat at the top, blazing away to a 30-ball 47. Unfortunately for them, there was not much support elsewhere, meaning that they failed to breach the 180-run mark.
The Warriors largely bowled well but were let down massively by Smith, who conceded 50 runs in his three overs. Tahir was economical as usual, with Pretorius also tidy. Shepherd also went at more than 11 runs per over but did bag the important wicket of Pollard, just before the onset of the final few overs. They have the batting firepower to chase this total down, and with the pitch not illustrating any real demons so far, the hosts will be quietly confident at the half-way mark.
Keacy Carty: Back home, I was putting in work. I was hoping to get called in but not in the last leg. Luckily, I came in today and put up a performance for the team. Just told myself that I am new to the format. If I can go run-a-ball for 25 balls, then I can go big. (On the 26-run over against Smith) I knew they wanted to make me hit to the big side. I was trying to hit straight, and wanted to hit boundaries. (On the score) We were targeting 170 to begin with so the bowlers have something to work with.

In reply to sgtdjones
You have to be Happy about K C Carty tho...
wow...he actually outbatted most others tonight...he had a ton on offer to be honest.
10:31pm A clinical run-chase to consolidate the Warriors' position at the perch of the table. Ayub set the tone at the top of the order, with Smith following suit after the youngster was dismissed. Hope then registered his fourth fifty-plus score this season to guide the Warriors' run-chase and ensured that there weren't any hiccups.
As for the Knight Riders, well, the defence descended into a bit of a farce towards the end, with Walton and Alleyne rolling their arm over, even as Carmichael (a designated bowler) failed to get to the bowling crease. Prior to that, they dropped a ton of catches, with Smith benefitting most. Their out-cricket on the field, in general, left plenty to be desired and the Knight Riders would hope that they can bounce back from this when they take on the Warriors in Qualifier 1 on Tuesday.

It has been difficult bowling here. We didn't have much dew while bowling first. I tried using my variations. I am pleased I did the job for my team. One needs to be brave. I didn't want to put any pressure on any juniors and hence bowled at the death. Odean was a little in and out with the ball
I think we got what we wanted from this. Keacy played well. Was about giving oppurtunities. We got what we wanted from a batting perspective. In hindsight, we got only 12 runs from the last two overs. Keacy coming in and exploding at the end was remarkable. I am not too sure about Guptill. We will look forward to have a good encounter on Tuesday. We were decent. Hinds executed decently well. Hosein executed well as well.
Imran Tahir, in his Player of the Match interview, had this to say: (On his rich vein of form) It has been difficult here, especially when you bowl second. We did not have much dew to contend with in the first half. It is about experience, was trying to bowl dot balls. I am just pleased it came out the way I wanted and happier that I did my job for the team. (On bowling at the death) It is about bravery, I always believe in that. Did not want to give the ball to any of the junior guys to put pressure on them. All the boys bowled well. Odean was a little up-and-down but we are working on that.
It is very electrifying. The people love the cricket here. I want to thank every fan. I am just grateful. Just great atmosphere to play cricket here. It was a win at the end of the day. They rested their big players but the win will give us confidence. We are enjoying each other's success. I am a kind of a guy who loves to take on challenges. Motie has opened for us.

Saint Lucia Kings have won the toss and have opted to field
We gonna bowl first. There would be something in it for the first innings. We wanted to take a lot of pride in ensuring everyone gets a chance. Everyone who is picked is capable of replacing everyone as this is franchise cricket. We have a couple of changes. This has been one of the beautiful tournaments where everyone has beaten everyone. The standard of cricket is high. If we have to meet them in an eliminator, it gives us a chance..
Great honour to captain. I believe in these tournaments momentum matters. I would have batted first. There is some moisture but great time to bat on. Taylor and Walsh are in
Leh we go Yard. Kirk, its time to deliver.
The pitch is a tale of two halves. The wicket is dry. Average first innings score at Providence is 168. A little surprised Kings opted to bowl first. The teams winning the toss usually have batted first and won games
Kirk McKenzie is on strike.

Credit to Jamaica, they were a lot more hungrier. We didn't turn up in any department if I am being honest. We did not apply. Credit to Hales for a brutal innings. We had to use the early moisture better with the ball. Our bad game is done now, hopefully three good games left for us.
Tallawahs captain: If we would have won the toss we would have batted first. We knew once it gets dry it is going to spin. Last year was the same. I think everyone is in form and we look like a dangerous team to be honest.
When the Tallawahs are firing they are unstoppable. TKR GAW better watch out

Powell left dem and run to Royals...now Royals out of the playoffs
If I had the answer on what was different today, Id be a lot more consistent. I was a lot more positive today, connecting them off the middle and had a little bit of luck as well. Match-ups are important, there was a small boundary and two offies bowling so I gave myself a good chance to score. (On Imad Wasim) Hes getting better each year, one of the best all-rounders in the current game. There were a few group games where we were timid, but now weve got our chest out playing positively. They have a good team and theyll be a threat in the playoffs

Smith did a really good job last time and want to give him another opportunity (at the top of the order) to see how he goes. Im very lucky, got a very good team around me. Were really happy for each other, when we come to play we want to beat other teams. Theres a little bit of planning but Im blessed to have a great team. Three changes. Were looking to build our young players as well and hence we keep making changes, theyre all excited
Normal proceedings, win the toss and bowl first. Will back our batters later on. There are a lot of motivating factors. Players looking to prove that they are still good players, Im looking to play for the honor of the franchise, sometimes it goes your way, sometimes it doesnt. Our bowling has been a concern, will be great if they can come to the party today. Two changes.
66m to one side and 72m to the other, dew factor has almost disappeared in the last two games. Hitting into the wind to the 72m side. There was a lot of spin in the earlier game. The pitch has been sprinkled and rolled so itll bide a bit. Less grass and can expect spinners to get more here especially after the wear and tear after the first game. Feel like ball will dominate bat here
Glad to see Kevin get a game

Today I decided to express myself and it just clicked. It was my matchup and we had a very solid start and we had a lot of depth in our batting. Rahkeem had to take the punch but it was one of those days. Gives great confidence going into the playoffs. [on not fielding] Just a bit of cramps. [on Kevlon Anderson] I'm happy to see that he had a great day. I always believe that I can score runs in any format I play. Good pitch and I capitalised.
So endeth the league phase. Glad to see youngsters on this leg get runs at a useful clip! Can only improve going forward by adding more variety to their shot making. T20 requires batters to be innovative. Now to finals week!
Saint Lucia Kings vs Jamaica Tallawahs, Eliminator

Saint Lucia Kings (Playing XI):
Colin Munro, Johnson Charles(w), Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Sikandar Raza(c), Sadrack Descarte, Roston Chase, Roshon Primus, Alzarri Joseph, Khary Pierre, Matthew Forde, Peter Hatzoglou
Jamaica Tallawahs have won the toss and have opted to field
Its a new game, its a new day. We have the ability to beat all the top teams. I play every game with pressure anyway, sometimes added pressure brings out the best in players. Its a fantastic place to be for our team. Hopefully we go all guns blazing today. Weve got four changes
.
Brandon Kings | Tallawahs Captain:
Were going to bowl first. Looks like a decent wicket but the possibility of dew means well bowl first. Nothing really matters before the playoffs, its only this game that matters so well focus on this. As players we all try to work to perform in big games. I try to stay calm and trust my preparation. We have two changes
Fresh pitch today. 64m to one side and 73m on the other, hitting into the wind on the longer side. Wind factor quite important here. It can be quite inconsistent here. Best surface weve seen here. Very even and dry. Will be bounce and pace, maybe a bit of turn. This pitch will see a lot of runs. Bowlers will need to use those unequal square boundaries. Advantage for Jamaica as it might get a bit easier for batting later on.
In reply to Narper
Winning the toss is halfway to victory at this time of the day on this ground. They should have started the game a bit earlier so the dew factor is not significant
In reply to googley
The last two matches the dew didn't affect them much bowling second
Charles is on strike.
Amir will open the attack
0.1
Amir to Charles, no run, oh lovely start! Length delivery just outside off, shapes back in very nicely and completely does Charles in as it beats the inside edge, he want for a wafty drive
0.3
Amir to Charles, FOUR, overpitched and it's been smashed! Full just outside off, Charles drilled this hard and right into the gap at cover, went to the boundary in a flash
Raymon Reifer, comes into the attack
Oh dear, this is a bit concerning for the Tallawahs. Amir is holding his hamstring, physio is out there. He just pulled up short in his previous run-up. This is not good for the Tallawahs, Amir is leaving the field. Looks like Reifer will complete the over.

1.3
Imad Wasim to Munro, out Caught by Chris Green!! Taken in the deep! The Tallawahs strike early! And it's Imad Wasim, he's been so good this season. Goes full and just a touch wider, allows Munro to free his arms but he looks to go down the ground and lofts it up straight. It ends up coming off the toe end and the fielder at long-on sprints to his right before taking a well-judged catch just inside the boundary. Big wicket as Munro goes early.

Ive been training hard, the team spirit has been good. We come out here and try to rally along. I tend to show up for my team in big games, theres a lot of energy. So JT fires the first salvo. Sets up tomorrow's game. Not sure either GAW or TKR wants the defending champs on their plate just yet! A mid week curry battle looms!
JA made a bad call to include STaylor instead of Mckenzie despite the win.

Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Trinbago Knight Riders, Qualifier 1
Date & Time: Sep 20, 07:00 PM LOCAL
We are on pitch number 4. Smaller square boundary - 64 metres, other side - 70 metres, straight - 76 metres. Wind and dew are expected to play a role. It's a new pitch. Cracks and grass nullify each other. Expected to be slow.
Saim Ayub, Shai Hope, Azam Khan(w), Shimron Hetmyer, Dwaine Pretorius, Kelvon Anderson, Romario Shepherd, Odean Smith, Gudakesh Motie, Shamar Joseph, Imran Tahir(c)
Trinbago Knight Riders (Playing XI):
Chadwick Walton(w), Mark Deyal, Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard(c), Andre Russell, Akeal Hosein, Dwayne Bravo, Keacy Carty, Waqar Salamkheil, Terrance Hinds, Ali Khan
Trinbago Knight Riders have won the toss and have opted to field
We are gonna field first. Winning is everything, tonight is no different. We don't have any point to prove. One or two matches isn't going to define us. We have to focus on what we need to do. Bravo is back, excited to have him back. It's been a total team effort, let's see what happiness tonight.
We are looking forward to a really fair game. We have been playing good cricket, we want to continue that. We have done our homework. They are going to come with a plan, we have a plan as well. Our bowlers and batters have been different. We have a lot of confidence. Shepherd come in. We have an exciting pacer in Shamar.
No Sunil Narine, no Guptill for TKR
Johnny Bravo is back

Rise and shine like Ganga say
We have been doing some good stuff this season. This is crunch time, big moments is when big player step up. People remember you when you perform in big games. I think I can really change the game in big moments. Could have got a few more wickets. My objective is to play to the team plans. I could have got more wickets. We are playing Guyana who have been playing well. We are ready. No one really knows, I always have butterflies to do well. As soon as I get that first boundary out, start to sweat a bit or a couple of dot balls with the ball, the butterflies go away.

10:31pm The Knight Riders have finally beaten the Warriors this season, and it has come when a place in the final was on the line. Walton was the star of the run-chase, notching up a 57-ball 80 that broke the back of the run-chase and kept the Knight Riders ahead at all times. Pooran and Pollard also did their bit, as did Deyal, and the clinical nature of their batting meant that the Warriors never really had a sniff.
Plenty to ponder for the Warriors, though. They did not get the early wickets they were after. To compound their woes, they were also expensive with the new ball and that set the ball rolling for the Knight Riders. Their spinners could also not impact the game much and the lack of wickets through different phases ultimately cost them.
Because they finished in the top two, they will have another bite at the cherry. However, they will have to be much better than they were tonight if they are to get past the Jamaica Tallawahs on Friday.

Solid, professional win TKR. See you Saturday night!
Chadwick Walton, Player of the Match: (On turning up in big games) First of all, I would like to say thanks to the players and coaches for having confidence in me. Treated this as just another game. It was an emotional half-century. Been a while since I got a fifty. Kudos to the guys who trusted me. (On how it feels to make the final) If we win the final, it will feel much better (smiles).
I would like to thank the coaches and players for having the confidence in me. Happy with the win. Has been an emotional ride and a half-century. Kudos to the guys for having the confidence in me. Only if we win the final, will feel better than this.

10:49pm Right. That brings us to the end of our coverage for this game. Just one more match remains before we find out who will face the Trinbago Knight Riders in the summit clash. Do join us for that clash between the Guyana Amazon Warriors and the Jamaica Tallawahs on Friday.
Kieron Pollard, Trinbago Knight Riders captain: (What made the difference) I think proper planning. Kudos to the backroom staff. The way we went about planning for Guyana, and to come out and execute like this. (Who led the way with the ball) I don't want to single out anyone. When we played the last game against the Warriors, we gave guys an opportunity. The guys bowled as one and we must commend the bowling unit entirely. (Message before the run-chase) It was simple. If we batted well, we knew we would get there. They were 20-25 runs short. Walton coming in for Guptill, taking his chance, scoring 75 (80) and taking the chase through - that shows the confidence we have in him. (Thoughts on the final) I have not thought about it yet. For us, the next 24 hours is to bask in our glory and acknowledge what we have accomplished. After that, we will think about the final.
Romario Shepherd, standing in as Guyana Amazon Warriors captain: (On where the game was lost) They bowled well to us, especially in the powerplay. Tactically they were good. I think we were 20 runs short. With the bowlers we had, we thought we could have defended 167. Walton batted well, a few chances went down. (On Smith now bowling) The captain decided to leave him out from the bowling attack tonight. It happens sometimes. Especially when you have 167 on the board and on a wet outfield. (On plans against the Tallawahs) We will try to get a good total on the board that we can actually defend.

We will bowl first. It happened last year as well. I think he has taken second most wickets, he is important for us.
We just need to do what we have done. We need to keep things simple. Sure that we will put up a good performance. You need to plan better. We need to be smart on the day. Shamar is out, Beaton is in.

Power play crucial...need at least 60 for no wicket...Ayub can start like he normally does, cause once he settle in, he does well
Same pitch that was used for Qualifier 1. Looks similar. There's grass covering and there will be extra bounce. The batters need to adjust to that bounce. The batters need to assess the conditions.
In reply to Narper
Do you think they should have gone with Sinclair?
In reply to ray
Odean have to go for broke...and blast from the get go
we do not need him to anchor one end as Ayub goes for his shots....we have enough fire power later down the order if he gets out early
Bad line up for the JTs .

Tahir to Gordon, out Bowled!! Too good. The googly from Imran Tahir and Gordon didn't pick it one bit. Just stood back looking to block it had had no clue about the variation. That's it. Mohammad Amir won't come out to bat due to an injury concern and that means Guyana Amazon Warriors are through to the finals.

As a team we had a point to prove tonight, the boys are hungry to get the cup for the whole country and the crowd. The award, I don't think, it belongs to me, it belongs to AK (Azam Khan), I want to give it to him.
We lost a couple of wickets early, we knew that the pitch was going to be tricky. I backed myself and was confident that I can take the game on. It's about testing your nerves in the big game and that's what I was trying to do, which is to play my natural strokes. Dwaine was great, especially with the new ball, very sweet of him to give his Player of the Match award to me, but he's a wonderful guy and really happy for him.
I don't think we bowled very badly, credit to Azam, he batted really well. We don't think the target was out of reach. I am not 100 percent, but I tried my best to give my 100 percent. The focus is on my role (which is to do well with the bat) and I'm glad for this (captaincy) experience. Imad was brilliant for us, Amir with the ball as well. Very consistent players for us. (Gordon) he is one to look out for the future.
Azam Khan: I think we lost a couple of wickets early on but the pitch wasn't that great to bat on because we knew it's gonna be tricky and especially the number I bat on, the situations always get tricky so I backed myself and was confident that I could take the game from there. I think it's about testing your nerves in the big games so that's what I was trying to do and just trying to be there and play my natural strokes. I was getting caught on deep square leg but today I had a different plan and I went over mid off and mid on...I succeeded and I am really happy about it. (On Dwaine's performance) Well he was great, especially with the new ball; he got two wickets and it's great of him to hand over his man of the match to me but I think he deserves it more than me. In the end I will just say that I am really happy and this is for the Guyanese people.
Dwaine Pretorius, Player of the Match: I think as a team we had a point to prove tonight. We have been one of the best teams in the tournament so far. We led ourselves down against TKR so the boys are hungry to get the cup for the home country and crowd and we have got great support playing at home so it's really awesome being able to get over the line tonight. I think they believe in me a lot, the analyst has done a great job and given me great plans but honestly I don't think tonight belongs to me, it belongs to AK (Azam Khan). I think he played a match turning innings tonight (hands his award to Azam)
Presentation ceremony coming up
Amazon Warriors have not put a foot wrong in this crucial clash, producing an inspired performance led by Azam Khan in the batting department and a power-packed performance with the ball, where everyone chipped in to make regular incisions and stay on top. It was a no-show with the bat for the Tallawahs, apart from Imad Wasim's unbeaten 43; only Hales and Allen reached double figures as the batters crumbled under scoreboard pressure. Imran Tahir was absolutely sensational on the big night, picking up three wickets in just 2.2 overs with an astounding average of 3. Pretorius was breathing fire too, taking two wickets and conceding 21 runs in his quota of overs. In the end, the gulf between the two sides seemed too large
Imran Tahir | Guyana skipper:
Feel really proud. Everyone chipped in and it's been the story for the whole season. They worked really hard and really good to see Azam get some runs. Really happy to see both Azam and Hetmyer get some runs today. We have been in this situations many times before, including myself, you have to have some nerves. We deserve to be in the final for the way we played throughout the competition. We got stability with the bat, we did speak about it. We just need to focus to play the game with freedom and execute our plans. We are hoping that he will be fit for the final and he really wants to do something special for the team. Thanks to all the crowd and all the Guyanese people all around the world for your support.
