He had a point though about Warriors batting lineup the other night. Too many big guns and bullets not used.

He’s commenting on observed flaws. What’s wrong with that?

Teams need to make minor adjustments in this format based on form. They do it with the bowlers very often.

Bish's job is more than commentary, he is also an analyst. I have no problem with that.

i think sometimes they overdo it and it comes over poorly

for the listener you are taken away from the game and into the politics of selection etc

thin line

But isn’t commenting on and analyzing strategy/approach/technique etc. part of his role?
What should he be limited to?

Yuh make me smile with this post Prof.

Tallawahs want this more than the Patriots...so let thy heart not be troubled.

I am ok with Bish going further than ball by ball commentary.

If it was a white man it would have been ok….Know yuh place wink

White men

A pair of Proteas legends have identified a South African batting line-up largely unproven at Test level as potentially the deciding factor in the three-Test NRMA Insurance Series against Australia that begins at the Gabba tomorrow.

Much has been made of the visitors' pace bowling, led by spearhead Kagiso Rabada along with the raw speed of Anrich Nortje and the points of difference provided by left-armer Marco Jansen and Lungi Ngidi.

But champions Jonty Rhodes and Shaun Pollock – both of whom are in Australia as commentators with Channel Seven and Fox Cricket respectively – believe it will be South Africa's batting that dictates how competitive they will be against the world's top-ranked Test team.

You have more baggage than di carousels of a hub airport.
I like Bish but in my opinion team selection is not his job.

I call it like I see it but I understand your emotion- you are human… cool
You love your country of residence as I do…. big grin

Raskil 2023-09-16 17:56:12

At this point I don’t need commies telling me where the ball is going…I need discussions on shortfalls and opportunities.

Those new to the game also have something in it coming out of commentary, together it brings balance.

Sorry Chrissy I don't see it as you do.

The job of a commentator is not as rigid as you perceive plus he made a very valuable point regarding selection and even how Hope has batted.
