If you will permit me to give another perspective on the matter...
Life is one big paradox. Humanity is a collection of individuals. A whole bunch of us but in the bunch we are all separate, unique and distinct. We all want to be recognized. Identified. I (the individual) am (exists).
And the reason we are here is because society was slow to accept the identity crisis transgender people faced coupled with the advancements in science. I have this feeling transgender people would have been comfortable being put in the space if society was more accepting.
But society is not so it forced them to squeeze into an occupied space.
Just my crazy 2 cents.
