To whom much is given, much is expected. Sammy wing it for his entire career. It got him to the captaincy of all three sides despite not being a first team member in any of the three. Which led to two world cups. Surely he should have won something with the Zouks/Kings already. Besides, they were doomed from the time they put pretty boy Floyd in the coaching staff

It’s clear that if you take Bravs, Pully, Marlon, Badders and Narine away from Sammy, he is a bit hamstrung lol

and doh forget the Universe boss. WI would have lost that england match in the first round in 2016 if it wasn't for his hundred. And his88 that piled 200+ runs on Australia in the 2012 WC semi final

Many contributions justify FATE during those Cups

Remember the semifinal where NZ were on track for a successful chase and DrSmith effected a spectacular run out from the deep outfield
Or how Faulkner Falked Australia

And RTN in the semi (quarter?)
And RTN in the RTN moment

And Samuels doing the impossible
And Rampaul starting the slide with the cartwheeling of Dilshan stumps
Or Roy having no clue against Badders

Or Ramdin run out when Marlon was cussin don’t throw

I gotta watch over them games this evening lol
lol

Caribbean divisions run deep and are malignant... That is not always the case with club divisions ... I think it is the rum drinking non-caring diaspora

confused

or if you take Sammy away from them, you get the same result.

exactly

And Samuels doing the impossible
And Rampaul starting the slide with the cartwheeling of Dilshan stumps

people still don't recognize how skillful rampaul was. That ball was as good as Wasim Akram's inswinger to allan lamb in the 1992 world cup. he and jerome taylor were the most skillful bowlers of their time. pity their careers were destroyed by politics

this is why rampaul is a world cup winner and dillon is not and both were miles ahead of miguel cummins, tantrum tino, RTN, ashley nurse......homie allyuh should be the last ppl calling people mediocre cricketers. do bajans even know what a fast bowler looks and bowls like anymore

tc1 2023-09-20 15:17:03

In reply to Jumpstart

let get a chart of mediocre players, we would start with the South American Willie Rodriguez to Lincoln Roberts and end pollard.
RTN won the last t20 world cup with Marlon and Sammy as captain.

You should stop posting because every time you post you expose your identity.

never saw rodriguez, never saw roberts and pollard has won 5 ipl titles and 2 champions league titles. RTN was most recently seen doing commentary in zim during the world cup(in addition to looking sad) qualifiers while pollard is still playing cricket and transitioning into a coaching career at mumbai indians

Disagree there.

Miguel Cummins was an excellent bowler. Quite fast early in his career, then injury set in and then modified his bowling to become an outstanding seamer with control and variation.

I would say tied with Courtney Walsh for the unluckiest West Indian bowler ever. The amount of play and misses he induced was staggering.

Ravi and Merv had their respective strengths but I wouldn’t put either ahead of Cummins.

I always felt Cummins would make an excellent bowling coach.

Pollard is like Greame Hicks, a club bully, that all.RTN avg in test cricket is better than 99.99% than any tit.

i was never impressed by cummins. he did well in the fc tourney devoid of the top players. maybe coming into an environment as fraught and criticized as the holder's team(mark nicholas' ((near-this is an indemnity)) racist short of brains remark was made as a result of holder's WI visit to Australia in winter 2015) could not have helped, but sorry, i wasn't that impressed with what i saw

holder is very tall....automatically that makes him difficult to hit, regardless of how slow he actually is. in terms of bowling, he averages 28, the best trinidadian fast bowler averages 24, a certain ian raphael bishop. As a batsman, holder does not even average as much as dj bravo, who played his last test in 2010 and who was replaced by allrounders of inferior talents like sammy and holder. in fact, holder for a tall bowler averages extremely high. look at the average of bowlers 6'5-6'8

He was , crazy as a fox. lol

Barry 2023-09-20 19:36:56

I like the modern holder, I vomit on this one

Vanburn Holder was a fast-medium bowler in between two eras where West Indies cricket was dominated by fast men. Originally a change bowler to Charlie Griffith and Wes Hall, he relied on accuracy and determination and in 40 Tests took 109 wickets. He toured England in 1969 - with mediocre success - and again in 1973 when he was an integral part of the bowling attack as West Indies ended six-and-a-half years without a series win.

Holder is what is called a bowling allrounder, as a test allrounder he is much more accomplished than the shown pony.
how tall is pouty, my guess is that he 5'-9''.

Jumpstart 2023-09-20 21:06:26

In reply to tc1

Pouty is not a bowler. Also, Pollard’s exclusion from multiple WI teams has to do with politics and the opportunism of a territorial board( the coral one).

But seeing that you’re conveniently avoiding facts…..I’ll post them for you
Kyle Jaimeson-19.57-6’7
Curtly Ambrose-20.99-6’8
Joel Garner-6’8-20.97
Bruce Reid-6’8-24.6
Jason Holder-6’7-28
