Some Trini-Fans pick up some box and thump
In reply to Yadi
I saw those videos.
All because they lost. One reason why they CPL trophy cabinet bare to rass
The word is Guyanese people are the nicest you could hope to meet. Obviously that statement does not universally apply
No different than England football supporters
In reply to Yadi

I say puncheon
. i hope the policia took whoever in for that foolishness
apologies for those idiots who fight their visitors
In reply to doosra
Not a problem
the whole world going that way
Dem man really wanted Nandu and Hemraj. The Trini shudda never say who?
Disgraceful behavior !
Curb alcohol sales.
No Trini were involved in the fight at the stadium... It was a bunch of drunk stupid Guyanese fighting between themselves.
In reply to anthonyp
People who cannot handle their liquor should be banned from drinking, period!
In reply to googley
how yuh go turn rung and ban ppl from drinking at an Eldo event?
In reply to doosra
Lol. Fuh real

A GUYANESE AT THE GAME HAS A DIFFERENT TAKE
In reply to imusic
that ignorance grinds my nerves...because I see and live it in many other spheres of life in gt...
we must do better...
that is no way to treat your visitors...have your banter but no names and drinks and all that ...if i were in QPO or Lara i would feel scared and uncomfortable
it's time to ban some fans for this sort of crass behaviour...ppl not visiting is bad for CPL, the economy, everyone....
In reply to doosra
honestly if they were visitors from other islands other than TT, I'm not sure there would be this sort of reaction. The Guyana Trinidad rivalry though has a historical and political edge to it unfortunately. Its actually more intense than the TT vs Barbados and TT vs Jamaica rivalry in cricket. The TT Guyana rivalry seems to go beyond cricket into darker things that should never even enter the turnstiles. Some Guynase and Trinidadian people genuinely think we're in a competition and because we're in a competition, anything goes. And of course the rum in excess does not help
In reply to imusic
That's sad man... Too many dumb people at these CPL matches which is one of the main reasons I don't go to the stadium for CPL matches.
All of them should have been charged and ban for life from CPL. Make examples of dem so de other clowns could see.
In reply to doosra
Don't they have police and security personnel at or in the stands?
And if not, then that is a security concern which must be addressed and remedied before the matches on tonight and Sunday.
In reply to Jumpstart
But it's not a Country vs Country thing.. Both franchises are privately owned. Time the CPL remove the Country names from these franchises.
In reply to SnoopDog
Police useless... Couple nights ago they had a video circulating on social media with ah family being forced to stand up and watch the match because their seats were taken by some individuals without tickets.
Police refused to remove dem because it's their friends...
In reply to anthonyp
Some of my relatives were at the GAW/TKR match last Saturday and they said it was without incident and everyone had a great time.
Obviously some drunken losers decided to ruin the night for everyone concerned at the last game.
But going forward it should be made a policy for zero tolerance for this kind of behiavour and security personnel should be given the powers to evict persons who act like idiots.
In reply to anthonyp
Unfcukingbelievable.
In reply to SnoopDog
With all the social media coverage, these jokers can be easily identified and locked up. However, we got some real Christmas police in GT as well. SMH!
In reply to anthonyp
I've been saying this from day one Bro.
I'm surprised the governments allowed, and is continuing to allow, the country names to be used by these private business people.
In reply to googley
Wave a $100 USD in dem face and watch dem get giddy and stupidy like kids in a candy store.

In reply to SnoopDog
I'm surprised the governments allowed, and is continuing to allow, the country names to be used by these private business people.
Arent the private business people FRIENDS as well???
In reply to mikelegend
Most of the stakeholders in the CPL are foreigners. More specifically, Indians.
Care to elaborate on what you mean by friends?
In reply to SnoopDog
A friend does not have to be local. Politicians would take whatever help they can get to maintain themselves.
In reply to mikelegend
GAW is owned by what gt ppl call "the best friend" of a former pressy
It should matter not ..Franchise Cricket or A country team, enjoy the game.
A very sad situation...spoiled by a few uncouth individuals.
Why can't it be like us on this site , we banter with each other in jest
nothing personal.I expected better from fans
In reply to doosra
I think at some point they will drop the country names from the CPL and adopt the names of the host city instead.
That way there is room for more than one franchise to be located in a particular country.
In reply to SnoopDog
When we have a Berbice franchise I will get a tee shirt for sure and might consider a few games
In reply to doosra
Narsingh will come out of retirement.

In reply to doosra
Former pressy? Some say he is still de pressy
In reply to SnoopDog
Narsingh scored a ton couple days ago in some kinda over 40 world Cup in Pakistan... He is the skipper for the West Indies team.
In reply to anthonyp
See! The man still has some cricket left in him.

That would be EXCELLENT.
nothing personal.

Hate manifests itself in different forms to be sure.
My stalker is here again, doesnt have afcking life ...
thread destroyed...
Gave up on the Gospel and Canada in the back room as he was ignored.
hold him, squeeze him, love him like those fans did
In reply to SnoopDog
Deo will play franchise cricket if Badree plays
In reply to googley
Badree went on to play for west Indies won two world cups ...
deo married Ishan daughter and was never heard from again...
See the difference Googs...
In reply to googley
Sure! Anything to get him out of the commentary box and save our ears.

In reply to sgtdjones
Deo lash he skunt fuh 6, collected his cash, and moved on.

In reply to SnoopDog
Dats before the fans today were born...you still clinging to dat...
T&T went on to represent us well at the Championship in India.
Gaw in SA , let's not mention that , they didn't win a game Snoopy?
The country name is HIGHLY effective
especially at the turnstiles.
Why is it any different IN PRINCIPLE from the Dallas Cowboys or Manchester United?
Theyre also franchises. They dont use the country name true
but you think it would be any different if the teams were called Berbice Amazon Warriors vs San Fernando Knight Riders?
Besides
.our countries are less than the size of many large citites.
Country name have nothing to do with it.
Is it ok when T&T Red Force play Guyana Jaguars in regional 50 over cricket?
Nothing wrong with the country name.
Besides, during breaks before and during play, the broadcaster features beautiful promos of the country. You think the respective government tourist boards object to that?
Its the assholes who cant behave themselves in public is the problem.
Agreed
All this bacchanal could have been prevented if the organizers just let GAW win every now and again, in the playoffs.
In reply to iTito
This has nothing to do with some stupidy fans who will always be at every venue ever year.
Last year Naomi was interviewing a female Trini spectator at a GAW/TKR game and just before the interview finished she said "allyuh Guyanese go back to Guyana" in an angry tone before Naomi cut her off knowing the interview had just gone south. If you guys think GAW spectators aren't abused and disrespected in Tittie then you're delusional.
But back to the issue at hand. When Red Force players play the Jaguars players they are representing their country and national teams. They are not representing business men who are mostly foreigners.
The usurping of the country names for this privately run tournament is a total sham.

Yadi's thread is great- Let us keep it going ...
Music itll make a big difference if they go City names but have a couple cities per country.
Sando vex if Polly dem make POS the franchise
it will dilute the venom a bit.
Imagine POS in the final against Berbice and all them south Sando indian cheering on Jeremy boys
Pandemonium!!!
In reply to Barry
Agreed.
In reply to imusic
super 50 doh really attract the best players again....you remember in 2013 and 2016 when tt hosted the tournament, how full the stadiums were, at least for the final? Then you look at the lineups:
Link Text- minus pollard and dj, its a full strength side. there was a big problem outside this game in which Gary Griffith who was at the game had to intervene in because it was sold out and overbooked.
Link Text- pollard and bravo were both playing this match and again the game was sold out.
I personally think nationality has a lot to do with it. then you take into consideration that the regional limited overs tournaments had real ramifications in the post ipl world
In reply to Jumpstart
No it wasn't.
I knew someone who was there.
In reply to SnoopDog
i was there. i took my mom....was in BG scotia. jason mohammed hit a six to reach his hundred which nearly came to us actually
In reply to imusic
You are lucky your post didn't stop this thread dead in its tracks...usually, any post with facts and logic has that effect.
This stuff goes on all over and alcohol is the main driver. Last night in the football game between the NY giants and San Francisco there was a big fight amongst San Francisco fans in the stands. The other matter in the Caribbean is the police and security people are busy watching the game and not what maybe happening in the stands that could potentially become a problem. One thing in the in the US, when someone misbehave they are promptly removed.
In reply to Halliwell
The venom is misplaced precisely because the fans have deluded themselves into believing the contest is between two sovereign countries.

exactly. WI cricket is not exactly perth vs nsw or auckland vs christchurch. you put country names to it and ppl already think its a competition between independent regional states. many ppl don't think its franchises

The dissemination of factual information and logical reasoning inside a rum store setting appears to have minimal impact.
Posters often have a tendency to deliberately obscure information and fabricate unfounded theories.
It is advisable not to regard this website with excessive seriousness.
The prevalence of stalkers is widespread.
In reply to Jumpstart
That's right. It was you, your mom, and a handful of other people.

In reply to SnoopDog
nah, the 2015 final was a handful of other people, only KFC stand was used and i came out with one stink headache because it had smokers everywhere. RTN get tief out but barbados were losing anyway so it didn't matter
In reply to Halliwell
You just can't stop pouring gasolene in the fire, huh?

In reply to Jumpstart
Very good summation. It's certainly beyond the boundary with these two countries.
In reply to cumberland
Yeah. Some unsavory stuff too
Guyanas history has made them edgy as well. Not saying all are like that but the poverty and political tensions and the resulting social instability makes a lot of them edgy. Extremely hard working people though. If all Trinidadians had their work ethic, wed be in a better place as a country
In reply to Jumpstart
All Trinidadians work hard and are very innovative even if you do not think so ... They are also more honest - for us who have businesses elsewhere in the Caribbean ...
In reply to SnoopDog
Snoop yuhs a hater
A funny hater but a hater none the less.
In reply to Barry
I agree. But public sector productivity is kind of low, and some companies, like WASA, do shoddy work unfortunately. But yes youre right, most trinis try to be honest in their business dealings
