As the elder statesmen and superstars in Caribbean cricket, the TKR team, comprised of winners of two t20 world cups,, 8 IPLs, 7 CPLs(4 for TKR and 3 for JT) and numerous other titles, we see it as our responsibility to correct our truculent and upstart younger brethren. Doh worry, tomorrows cut tail will hold you in hood stead

And he's still in the top 10 run getters in the Tournament plus he's only batted 10 times says a lot about our cricket eh???
Anyways you into counting eggs in fowl batty too???

It does. And Im serious about that. I told my dad recently that we not really seeing any young cats coming through in the CPL. Shemar Joseph is one for the future and the bajan boy playing for ST Lucia. Both bowlers which tbh is not a major WI problem right now. Youre not seeing any batting though with exception of Sherfane Rutherford and hes not that young. I am very worried about the CPL products future in the next 4-6 years. Biggest party is cool but you wont have a product if you have players who arent up to requirements
In addition to JA showing a complete lack of enthusiasm for hosting the sport

Yup totally agreed and CPL ain't doing shit about it!!! The Emerging Player thing is such bullshit, they're literally there to make up numbers!!!
As much as I hate to say it once guys like Pollard & Bravo leave idk what's going to bring viewership to the CPL because quite frankly even I'm sick and tired of chicken curry vs. curry chicken

Tellin yuh eh. I remember when the CPL first started, a journalist in Trinidad asked the WICB why they gave CPL such a long contract when all the IPL stars, who were the basis of the tournament were over 30. So too were test stars Tiger and Sarwan. And the WICB officials response was virtually to ignore the question. Honestly the way WICB, given the WICBs lack of vision, Im sure they thought Gayle and co would last into their 40s
I Tellin yuh T20 in the WI will mashup the same way the test and odi team mashup. From being the absolute best in the world to being somewhere near the worst with a few world class players. CWI doh plan for anything

Polly warned everyone last year- he alluded that CPL isn't the vehicle to identify and develop the youth. He seemed to have supported a another domestic league outside of CPL to identify and develop talent.
I see old foreign players and I scratch my head, wondering why our region's youths were not given the opportunity.

Man went from time off to all the time

Can CWI create a t20 tournament of their own to address that issues, or do they need CPL's permission to do so?
In reply to doosra
I think its the contract of sale that says they cant.
So Rowley needs to disband them, reconstitute another. Maybe.
In reply to Halliwell
is it a 99 year lease...kidding
i hope there is an avenue for a local t20 tournament

I am not sure what the CPL agreement allows, but Stanford tournament did more for WI development than the CPL for sure.
In reply to soloview
Head to the top of the class sir. CPL is a parasitic tournament. Out of Stanford came the TT red force side
..and all the players that were part of the basis of two World Cup wins. ESPN cricinfo actually wrote an article on it a few years ago. Will post it
