India’s Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi announced the suspension during a regularly scheduled news conference.

Additional Information: Bagchi cited security threats to staff in Canadian consulate staff as the reason for the suspension. The Indian government also issued a travel warning to its citizens in Canada on Wednesday. The Canadian government pulled some staff from its Indian consulates due to threats earlier this week, according to press reports. While processing of Canadian visas continues in India at this time, delays should be expected. The irony is that India restrictions will mostly affect their own nationals, as thousands of Indian students study in Canada, at the various Universities and Colleges, will be affected. In fact, there might not be any willingness on the part of Canada to reciprocate, due to the fact that majority of Canadians are unaffected by the restrictions but the real victims are actually the thousands of Indians living in Canada or trying to immigrate to Canada.

I guess India having just sent spacecraft to the moon is now flexing its muscles, that the country is now arrived as a developed nation but tell that to impoverished millions living in places like Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, etc.

Canada needs india immigrants to drive trucks, taxi and work the fast food chain like tim hortons and mcdonald because canadians do not want to do these jobs for pennies.
