How come it looked like 80% of the stadium was Indo Guyanese? What happened to the rest of the population?
On social media it is quite different with the whole of Guyana celebrating.

Let's address the elephant in the room in Guyana
In reply to deanjones
Why don't you recruit Mulla bin Emir and the two of you can launch a full investigation into the matter?

Maybe that is the segment that care most about any and every cricket?
In reply to SnoopDog
dis want belt man
In reply to deanjones Something I observed...
About 45% of the Guyanese in the ground came from foreign. People went to the US and Canada, worked like dogs, achieved and saved their money. If they want to return and spend their money to have fun, why is their racial mix a problem? You spend your money how you like. You worked for it. End of story.
Some people here need to get a life. Most of the NFL and NBA major stars are black. What is the dominant skin colour in the stands?
In reply to doosra
That's exactly what I was thinking.

In reply to bobby
true
In reply to SnoopDog
what elefant and which room?
First time I hear about this elephant
It was hiding
In reply to deanjones
My close brethren and I were discussing this today. For the record, he is Indo-Guyanese - and is still in shock.
In reply to bobby
But both the NFL and this display speak volumes about pricing locals out of games.
Allyuh cut di crap. There are dangerous signs for all to see. Ignore dem at our collective peril.
I thot that the man was bringing up Hety belly again!!!!
.
I observed the same in the Trini crowds but when I attended in St Kitts I realised that the camera men were focussing on certain parts of the crowd. Go figure!! Doesnt bother me. The bigger the turn out, the bigger the party and hopefully the bigger the support for other forms of cricket in the future!
In reply to Chrissy
Interesting. I wonder if the same thing happened on Sunday.
In reply to Chrissy
Is he in shock that Guyana won? Or is he in shock that he's Indian and you're his friend? Or that most of the fans in stadium are Indian?

In reply to Chrissy
If the stands were full of black faces there would be people on this forum who would not raise an eyebrow.
In Guyana, it seems as if everythign is about race.
You win and it about race
You lose and it is about race
I suppose the Brits did a great job before deh eft.
In reply to deanjones
You dont by chance happen to have the demographic of the Carnival Show on Saturday?????
In reply to WI_cricfan
You said it.
How do you look for something like that without it being possible that doing that is racist?

Genuinely interested. does any one know the price for the tickets
and were they mark up.
In reply to Chrissy
I get priced out of most pro sports in the US. I sure plenty people who can't afford it go to those games. I can afford it, but paying that price is just too much. I don't understand it when you say "it will be to our collective peril"
Lots more bigger fish to fry that who attends sporting events...it's disposable income
I am a big Knicks fan, but I have only attended one Knick game in the last 3 years, and the tickets were a gift...some yall need to stop making this about race
Lots of those overseas folks at the games also saw this as an opportunity to return home...vacation time
GT peeps gouge the visitors, especially returning nationals. Why alyuh charging US$$? For example,Corona 6 US in ground and no banks beer inside either.
How come most of the people at the dancehall and reggae concerts in Guyana are Blacks and the shows are more expensive than cricket. What happened one segment get priced out of the market?
That's right y'all like to see problems where there is none.
Caribbean people need to beware, the Mulatto and Creole Class still exist are are dangerous.
In reply to Curtis
I hear dem man does pay more than that when Venez are in da house!

In reply to Curtis
Lots of people complaining about that carib junk they forcing them to buy at the stadium... They need to sort it out... Guyanese need banks beer at the stadium
In reply to bobby Oh skites bobby, yuh real vex...but, guess what I'm with you.
In reply to bobby I have a somewhat different take on it, but I will upset 30+ % of Guyana...plus some of my cousins! Fool stop.
In reply to jahmekyah
and were they mark up.
$20 USD if you bought on-line (from the event organizers).
$100-$500 USD if you bought from scalpers.
yeah, fall into the trap of division by race. Nobody wins, so in the meantime feel free to exercise your right to free speech but please use responsibly for the good of all.
In reply to WI_cricfan Yuh mean dem wusser than the USA?!
In reply to SnoopDog
Only one race of people have internet

In reply to deanjones
Well Guyana is 39% East Indian and 31% Afro Guyanese so that may be why. The demographics are a bit different to TT where the numbers of those two races are virtually equal
In reply to SnoopDog
Thanks
In reply to bobby
bingo
no elephant here unless one is also seeing magic carpets and snake charmers.
In reply to powen001
I have to confess I initially thought this thread was about Jimbo.

In reply to Chrissy
These clowns don't know I am Indo Guyanese also. They only see the jump and wine up session but don't see what is simmering below it.
